Works way better than I expected.
As soon as I got this, I put it on charge. The charger light turns green when fully charged. Having never used one of these before, I was amazed at how easy this was. I turned the voltage knob just under half way and it works GREAT!!!I have yet to make a bad weld. The only suggestion I could make is, the foot switch cord could be longer but with a little patience, it's doable. I have already repaired 3 power tool batteries and it has paid for itself at least twice over. All in all, I'm very satisfied with this product!

Portable spot welder usage
Using the equipment required coordination between hand and feet. Use the probe to the nickel strips first after turn it on then use the peddle. The amount of bonding via spot welding is not consistent. Some weldments are deeper then others.

I haven't welded yet, awaiting components for job, but like everything so far.
Quality appearance, it takes a charge (over 5 hours initial charge for 100% on OLED) on 2 or more amp micro USB . Display appears to work in English without any option selection. Full aluminum case, metal end piece with precise cut outs for USB A (power bank) access, micro USB charge port, push button power/mode switch. plastic front panel with cutout for OLED display, two circular gold plated weld lead cavity's plug in's, and arrow left/right for menu navigation. menu selection of menu item is via rear power on button tap vs 5 second hold for on/off. weld pens are 4-6 inches shorter than desired (welding on a horizontal table requires lifting box up). weld tips are simply flat cut solid copper tips, not rounded contacts, or angled tips to minimize box lift from table. no protection from power bank mode with open weld lead sockets uncovered. If welding is successful; I would buy this again.

This unit is not worth the money. Do not buy it
This product has the following problems:1. The output power is inconsistent. This may be due to no charging indicator when the welding capacitors are charging.2. There is no indication of then the unit is ready to weld.3. Both the foot switch and welding cables are too short.4. Both the foot switch and the welding cables should be removable.5. The LED display should display "gear" or weld current or capacitor charge level rather than battery level. this indicator is basically useless.6. The users manual is useless and written in bad Chinese translated English.7. The foot switch is flimsy and so light that it move all over the place when trying to use.My suggestion is to not buy this and spend your money on a better true AC powered unit.

PARTS
The item works great. Problem is you can not get replacement AC charger or any other parts from the seller. The specs state the voltage output for the AC adapter but not the charging current. Requested charger current form seller but did no specify?? If you need any parts GOOD luck. You are on you own. It is worth the find a suppler that will support their product. The 8.4 volt AC charger is not a common rated voltage. This their design and could have chosen a any standard voltage. Often manufactures do this on purpose to be specific to their devices. SIDE NOTE More common are: 5V, 6V, 9V, and 12 volts. Don't go off on a rant, there are other voltages that fall in between these values. Laptop power supplies are all over the place when cones to standard voltages. So are the their plugs.

Great deal
This spot welder worked great for an entry level spot welding pragmatic hobbyist. I love milwaukee 5 ah m18 batteries. I had saved a bunch of cells from these, and had one with a fried circuit board. Within a week of getting this product I got back 2 fully functional 5 ah batteries! I'm descent at soldering, but just soldering can't fix these batteries efficiently. This spot welder basically already paid for itself, so although it hasn't been through the durability and longevity tests, it passes the short-term usefulness and function tests. I didn't read instructions well, just what I needed, experimented until I got it.Use notes: Sometimes a lot more sparkles shoot out (with close to equal charge), and working with batteries can make that scary. Everything was fine, but beware, like a jack in the box. It takes a while to charge, but can do a bunch of welds after it builds up a base charge, it seems. If spot welding on a plastic surface, it will sink because plenty of pressure seems to increase odds of successful weld, and quick heat melts what's under the stuff. The round pad in the box must be for putting under the weld stuff.I usually don't leave reviews, so clearly I'm impressed for the price.
