This Foepoge mat really is thick and heavy. I have other silicone mats that I use around the house that are perfectly fine to protect surfaces from stains and scratches, but they not are anywhere nearly as thick as this mat. This mat is in the kitchen on a countertop work surface where I often need to place hot items. It is the perfect size for my work area and it is thick enough to protect the countertop from hot items. I don't need to use pot holders or trivets for hot items anymore. The mat is as thick as the silicone pot holders I have. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Silicone mat was perfect for my old and unattractive white tile countertop. Of course, I can't cut things or put hot thing directly on it, but it works well as a smooth top that blends in.

as a disclaimer, i got this mat to put under my cat’s feeding area as they can get a little bit messy. it’s saved the floor from getting nasty, this is much easier to clean. however, it has ripped, and it doesn’t get that much physical wear and tear—the cats don’t play with it at all and barely even walk on it, it’s just their bowls that sit on top of it, so i wouldn’t say it’s the most durable.
