I fitted new laminate flooring in my front room last year and I’ve never been happy with the gap that is left between the flooring and the skirting board since the new flooring was thinner than the old carpet. I’ve been meaning to rip the old skirting off and apply a new one but never got around to it. This self-adhesive skirting board trim allowed me to tidy it up without a lot of work, or mess, involved.The adhesive trim comes on a roll and is easily applied by peeling off the backing paper and sticking it to a clean and dry surface, like my skirting board. It has a bevelled bottom edge which is designed to touch the flooring, but doesn’t have any adhesive on it, so it can move as the flooring expands and contracts. It’s finished off the skirting board and there’s no gap between the skirting and the flooring which looks a lot better. I could have fitted a new skirting board, but I prefer the look that this gives as it actually touches the floor for a cleaner look…
