Great laser measure
Easy to use, nice and compact, works extremely well, very pleased with my purchase.

Where were the instructions?
As a real novice using one of these devices I had no idea where to start, other than ‘fiddle’ with it. To some extent I think I’ve ‘cracked it’ but just a few lines of instructions would have been helpful. We are not all experienced DIYers, some of us have to feel our way into these tasks and into using these tools/equipment. This isn’t a spanner or a screwdriver where it’s obvious how they are used, it’s a ‘techie’ piece of equipment that needs at least some information on how to use it.

Worth the money
Product is just as described, my husband is a surveyor and he shares by the brand. It is easy to use and good accuracy. Definitely worth the money

Could be better
I’d used a Bosch professional glm20 for about 18 months before I dropped and broke it so bought this as a cheaper alternative to the glm 40 on the basis that I have other Stanley tools which I’ve been happy with. This however has been temperamental over the time I’ve had it which means that sometimes it doesn’t doesn’t measure at all, sometimes I can’t see the red dot and today was the final straw when it kept changing from mm to inches. Battery life ( 2 x AAA) isn’t great. The red button to measure isn’t positioned brilliantly meaning it’s hard to hold still and press for a measurement. On the plus side it’s inexpensive and having decided today to buy the Bosch glm40 I’ll keep this as an emergency back up.

Stanley laser measure
Mine was 20mm out so I sent it back, not sure if this is the same for all of them. Good value for money counts for nothing if it isn't accurate! I bought a Lomvum as a replacement which has +/- 2mm accuracy and funnily enough it's 2mm out but I can live with that.
