Great indoor clothes line.
I saw some reviews that were not very good but I still took a chance on this one. I think the purchase was great and well worth every dime of it. I did though modify the install just a bit and put both of them on a 1X4X 1/2 inch. I first secured the 1x4 to wall studs and then secured clothes lines to the 1x4. It's not going to come down without a measurable amount of force. I see very little sag and have and no issue with the lines popping of the holder.

Seems like a winner . . . Save Electricity !
I just installed this retractable clothesline in my sunroom. One of the reasons I chose this model is that the lines were long enough to span my 15 foot + sunroom. My sig. other started draping washed clothes over the furniture in there to reduce our electrical bill. She was right. The clothes dried pretty fast in the Northeast, even in winter, as long as we had sun. The unit seems pretty sturdy, but we haven't loaded it up yet.Installation: If you can use a drill and a screwdriver you can install this. It comes with a glue, but I didn't need that. The stays of the sunroom are metal (likely aluminum) about 1/8th thick. I did not use the 6 mm bit they recommend because that is for the screw inserts (What are those called ? . . .) if you want to mount it in drywall or softer wood, or maybe paneling. I used a 1/8th drill bit to drill the metal. The "hanger" acts like the template. All I needed were 4 screws to secure the base. HOWEVER, USE YOUR OWN SCREWS if you are mounting on metal. The included screws are the weakest I've ever used. Three twisted and snapped off just screwing them in by hand. Backing them out with a Vice Grip took longer than installing the base plate. I chose some small, panhead screws about 5/8" long. The anchors only need two short screws, each. There is a base plate for the anchors which you can use as a template. Drill and set the top screw, then drill the second in whichever of the remaining 3 holes you choose. Snap the anchor in place and grab your laundry. Figuring out the proper drill bit took as long as the install. I set the lines in a "V" configuration for more space to move around in.Drying in our sun all day sunroom is faster than the dryer !

Read this for an important installation tip
Read Me! Many reviews state that the body comes off the brackets. Many others argue those people are installing it backwards. NOPE!!! I figured it out by accident - If you install the mail body 2 or more inches below the satellite connections on the other side of the wall, the tension will lift the main body right off the brackets. You can probably get away with installing them level, but I would advise installing them lower by an inch or 2. The tension us really fantastic - no sag even with heavy blankets - which is why it will pull the main body off the brackets if the satellite brackets are higher. This is coated with plastic so it should not rust the steel wire. I can confirm this is over 16.5 feet - that is how far apart my walls are (no sag even with maximum length). Most other units sold cap out at 15ft length. This is a great product.Don't forget to loosen the cable before removing from the satellite bracket or the tension can cause it whip you. walk the cord back to retract - this does not have a slow retract feature - but not needed.

The best for my apartment!
I don't have a dryer and I'm not spending my paycheck on the laundry mat dryer, that drys about as fast as me blowing on my clothes. This is perfect, I have it in my living room, I have it extended when drying clothes then I retract it and no one even notices it's there. I wouldn't hang blankets on it but otherwise I've been using it for a few months with no issues. It was pretty easy to install. It has been a big monet and space saver for me.

Unusably flimsy
We installed this and tested it by hanging one shirt on a hanger, the plastic bracket for attaching the line popped off the metal bracket, had to drill holes into the plastic and drill that directly into the wall before this was functional.
