I was looking for a hoop that would be suitable for the kids and go full height for me to play with. I opted for this one because it was the best price for a full height hoop. I also liked the fact that the hoop is angled away from the pole. So many of the hoops at this price point have the backboard attached right on the pole so you'd end up running into the poll and base when doing a layup.It took a couple of hours in total to build it on my own, although I'd recommend an extra pair of hands when it comes to putting the backboard onto the pole. It took longer than it needed to because the instructions weren't as clear as they could be. Some extra illustrations would be good.In terms of changing height, I'm really impressed with it being incredibly easy and quick to change. The smart height adjuster handle means it takes literally 2 seconds to change heights.It seems sturdy enough in situ but we've only been using it for a day so far.I've filled it with water and not used the extra weight bag so far and it seems pretty stable. Definitely heavy enough to deal with normal UK stormy weather.One thing I would say is that, with water in the base, it really isn't that portable. It's fine if you just want to move it very small distances but I'm not sure I'm going to be able to get it round from our small patio at the back to the front driveway very often.All in all, so far (1 day in) a great buy.

Pretty impressed with this Basketball hoop and stand. Assembly took around 2 hours, 2 people required later on. Assembly instructions - not too bad, certainly seen worse. The base of the stand is compact, but does mean there is less room for ballast hence the additional bag supplied to hold sand to further secure / stabilize the stand - this is definitely required, especially if using the optional, additional pole to allow the adjustment to reach full NBA height The ability to adjust the height via the handle / spring is really good. The design of the base means that the ball does not strike the base and fly off once through the hoop - a particular annoyance of the stand this has replaced. My 11 year old Basketball mad son his brother are loving it. 5 stars for value verses cost. You can pay a lot more and get better quality but this strikes a good balance for me.

The media could not be loaded. My 13 year old son just joined a National League basketball team and we needed something he could train with daily.It was slightly difficult to assemble but my son and I did it in about 3 hours.We are impressed at the moment and have been using it non stop since I put it up. I used to play basketball so I’m enjoying the use I get out of it.I would say the best feature is how it can be easily adjusted from 10ft to 8ft for family fun with the handle. I also like how the rim isn’t stiff like a double rims in the park so the ball doesn’t go for miles when you miss a shot.The backboard is plastic but is decent and lay ups and shots of their are fine.The only negative is that the net ripped on the first day after around 100 shots. I took it off and fixed it then it ripped somewhere else after another 50 shots. I guess I will have to buy a quality net for around £10 from somewhere.Even though the net is poor quality I still gave 5 stars as I would have probably replaced it with one of my choice anyway.
