I have ownded several smaller and considerably cheaper air purifiers, but in all honesty, none have ever turned out to be much good, so a case of money wasted.Like most people, considering paying as much as this Shark Max was, is a huge decision to make, one not to be taken lightly.So firstly I read a great many reviews, then I researched the actual machine, size, weight, operation, filter life etc.All of which I found to be most helpful and was extremely satisfied by my findings.Fortunately, Amazon offer interest free monthly installments, which made making the decision to purchase much easier.Setting it up straight out of the box was very easy indeed and took me a total of less than 10 minutes.I love the appearance of this purifier, it doesn't look like any other purifier and looks really nice futuristic.I have only used it on auto mode, which is the default mode out of the box, my lounge, which is the room I purchased this for, is approximately 18 foot X 12 foot in size.Please also note that as per the supplied quick start instructions, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO USE THE FRAGRANCE CANNISTER SUPPLIED (ODOUR CONTROL) FOR THE PURIFIER TO FUNCTION CORRECTLY, INSTALLING AND USING THE SUPPLIED FRAGRANCE CANNISTER IS ENTIRELY YOUR FREE CHOICE.I only mention this fact as I have noticed a few buyers have expressed their dismay at the whole idea of the fragrance cannister being counter intuitive, based on buying a purifier to remove odours, why then have to use a fragrance cannister.Well, you don't have too, so just as I have done, I haven't even installed the fragrance cannister, the air purifier works perfectly without it.Once I first turned the machine on, it starts off on full power (the fan) whilst it initially checks the current air quality in the room.After 5 minutes, the display showed an improvement was already under way, and after a total of 20 minutes, the purifier showed good air quality had been achieved.I can honestly say that even after 15 minutes, I could notice a difference to the air quality and the overall ambience within the room, amazing!I have left the purifier on auto mode throughout the night and it remains on, it has displayed an air quality of 100% only occasionally dropping slightly due to through traffic of family members, but doesn't take very long to return to 100%.On auto mode, the fan is only noticeable during the periods when it needs to come fully on, to re adjust the air quality, otherwise you barely notice it's on.In my personal opinion, even when it runs at full pelt, it's certainly not what I would call noisy, I can comfortably watch TV without issue.It does have a setting for night time, that makes the display lights very dim or off altogether, but again, I have left it on and it hasn't bothered me.The main filter can last up to 5 years, all you need to do is remember to brush or vacuum the removable side filters regularly, just to maintain healthy operation.This purifier most certainly works incredibly well, I am very impressed!Expensive, yes, worth it? YES!Remember to consider the average annual savings for filter replacement too, when considering purchasing any others.I love the fact that everyone who has seen it, asks, 'whats that'? After some research done to find the right sort of air purifier, I bit the bullet and purchased this model. This is probably one of the best long term investments made regarding clean indoor air quality. I work from home three days per week, so spend most of my time here, and the air quality has improved significantly since then. Indoor air quality is not the same as being outside, so I have resolved this issue with this and now feels much fresher and clearer. My desk space is located in the bedroom. I sleep much better at night and also noticed that I no longer wake up with a stuffy nose. We had a bbq not too long a go, the smell of smoke wafted down the other end of the house. Immediately , the air purifier went into overdrive and banished the smoke smells. This is a real sturdy piece of kit and easy to move into other rooms, should you so wish. Economical with electrical usage, too. Switches to economic mode once it’s done its job. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Filter just needs to be cleaned every two weeks or so.

Very easy to use , it even tells you what to do on the top of the box when opened to stop any mishaps. Having Asperger's I find the noise is amplified for me so I can't give a true score on that but once the air is purified enough, the fan level quietens down a fair bit and if the machine senses it's 100% clear it shuts the fans off saving you money.The touch screen on the top works very well and on the front, you can easily what the air quality is with numbers and colour coding of red, amber and blue red being the worst quality and blue being the best. There is a freshness pod you can use (I didn't) that can freshen the room if needed also.2 consOn Amazon you're not able to source a HEPA filter for the device in advance without it being unavailable or to find it or being grossly overpriced.There are no handles to pick it up to move it, the handles you see on each side are to remove and clean the debris filters.

This Shark air purifier is a good one.It purifies the air automatically and the fan slows down by itself as the rooms air quality increases and it eventually stays on low when it is at 100%.The timer is a great option as I put it on for on for an hour or two before I go to bed and by that time the room is usually at 100% anyway.If you smoke you can see the Shark fan draw in the smoke away from the rest of the room but have to have this on number 3 to do this. It can also feel quite cold when it’s on, you can feel the fan on your legs even on number 2 from 5ft away though it’s subtle.It collects quite a bit of dust over a few weeks which you can see and clean easily so I know it’s doing its job.It’s good if you have allergies as you can feel the freshness in the room when it’s been purified.If you use this all day on different but mainly low settings it can be quite expensive to run. I calculated it was using between £1.50-£3.50 for the day.Had it a good few months and am happy with it.I would recommend this Shark never change (5 year) filter Air Purifier.

Love this air conditioner. I put it on when I enter my lounge and turn it off when the air quality has reached 100% and it has been on for about 30 minutes. The air feels so much fresher, a bit like a slightly cool gentle breeze and I don't leave it on long enough to get cold. I have an air conditioner in my bedroom too (different brand) and use that during the night on sleep mode. I have Asthma and I'm not coughing at night anymore. I've checked my Smart meter and both air conditioners are showing in the green area so low energy.

Love this product, immediately the air feels so much cleaner. It looks great and not in the way. However the odour filter does not last long and is expensive to replace but you can just use a diffuser.

This larger version is quieter than the smaller versions. Works very well.
