Breath of Fresh Air
This book gives a perspective on leadership that encourages us to engage life (whether that be leading at the corporate level or being in relationship with neighbors and family) with humility, creativity and in community. It is not a “checklist” of things to do to be wise but rather a compilation of life experiences that increases awareness of the many opportunities we all have to live life more thoughtfully and effectively. “The Wise Leader” is a breath of fresh air in a world of division and power grabbing. My husband and I would highly recommend it. A joyful and thoughtful read.Dianne M

A Potent and Practical Guide
A book titled "The Wise Leader" will require more than theoretical concepts to make its case. Instead, one might expect to find practical guidance, lived stories (personal and encountered), and cross-pollination across disciplines. Chi achieves all of these and more. It is accessible, inspiring, and thought-provoking. I imagine that many readers will enjoy this work personally, but I can easily see this lending itself to substantive conversation by leadership teams.

Subtle yet solid advise for marketplace leaders
In the modern context, there are only a few books that address what wise leadership really looks like. Written from a Christian context, this book avoids any hint of platitudes that often litter business success writing from a faith point of view. What you will find here is thoughtful measured suggestions and reflections from a seasoned business leader who holds faith as a cornerstone of his formation as a leader. Here the reader will find a refreshing collection of guidelines for leaders.By way of full disclosure, I have been a friend of Uli's for more than a decade and can offer a complete endorsement of his character, wisdom, and humility - all characteristics in short supply in both secular and sacred occupations. From my 45 years of business experience and 25 years of varied leadership rolls, both in secular vocation and the church, I heartily recommend the Wise Leader!

This book is both practical and a great meditation
Chi draws wisdom from three sources: contemporary psychology and thinking about leadership, wisdom from the Judeo-Christian scriptures and his own experience. At a time when we have books galore on leadership, I think the blending of these three makes the book unique. I especially appreciate his stories from his own experience, both personal and professional. If anything, I would have appreciated knowing more about the specifics of his entrepreneurial work, but he demonstrates the humility he says is critical to leadership. He does a remarkably good job explicating and applying scriptures, but this is not a book of theology or Christian apologetics. I think it would be useful for folks who are not of that tradition. It's a quick read, but worth spending time reflecting on the insights he shares.
