Biblical principles guide on modern morality
Dennis Prager's *The Rational Bible* has ignited meaningful discussions about morality in the modern world, highlighting the relevance of biblical teachings in addressing today's moral and ethical dilemmas. Prager presents the Bible as a rational, practical guide, asserting that its principles offer clarity and direction in an increasingly secular society. One of the significant contributions of Prager's work is its ability to bridge the divide between religious and secular audiences. His rationalist approach appeals to those who might not typically engage with religious texts, fostering broader conversations about the foundation of morality and the influence of divine principles on ethical behavior. Moreover, Prager's commentary underscores the moral distinctions introduced by the Torah, such as the separation between good and evil, life and death, and sacred and profane. These distinctions challenge contemporary perspectives that often blur such lines, positioning his work at the center of debates on the necessity of objective morality. The hardcover editions of *The Rational Bible* are also highly regarded for their quality and presentation. With durable binding, clear print, and a polished appearance, they are well-suited for long-term use and study.

Pleasant way to read the Bible.
Historical context, explanations by biblical scholars, relevance to our current world. I’ve now read 4 of Prager’s Rational Bible books. They are excellent. So much more pleasant than trying to read the Bible on my own.

A very instructive author
Not being very educated in the Talmud, I find this explanatory book very educational, because I am more familiar with Archeology, but I have studied some theology in college. I think this is a very insightful book

Another Winner from Mr Prager
I carefully read Prager's previous volumes on Torah and this one keeps the same high standards. His writing style is lively and thought-provoking and the commentary is original. While he regularly quotes from biblical scholars he also offers his own interpretations of important themes of Sefer Bamidbar in the form of essays. My favorite one is "Is There Luck in Life, or Is Everything Determined by God's Will?" related to 34:13. I also appreciated Prager's corrections of the English translations of certain passages.Three editorial complaints. Prager did not include a bibliography for his sources, although they are mentioned in the Notes section at the end of the book. And since this is a scholarly book it would be nice to have an index as well. Also he does not include footnotes for some of the authors that are quoted. Note that he comments on many but not all verses in the sefer. Incidentally the English name for this book of Torah ("Numbers") is misleading as only five chapters deal with a census (1-4 and 26). A better English name would be "Wilderness" as that is where all of the action takes place. An excellent starting point for those new to Bamidbar and a fine addition to those like myself who have read other commentaries.

A Wonderful Commentary
The entire Rational Bible series is Dennis Prager's gift to eternity. I've read the Bible my entire life, and yet, every week I look forward to reading some of the Rational Bible insights. A great present to one's own moral compass. Bravo Dennis!

This is an excellent addition to Prager's commentary series of the Pentateuch or Torah
This is a quality addition to Prager's commentaries on the first five books of the Jewish and Christian Bibles. It is the fourth of five so far published. Whether you are a Christian, Jew, or other this is a worthy contribution to try to understand the meaning and application of what the author believes is God's word.
