The folding seat cane design Ive dreamed of
I have dreamed about having a folding seat cane like this. Most folding seat canes are awkward to use as a regular as you hit at 3 points when walking. This one allows you to fold up the 2 front legs and use one as a cane. The handle is an ideal shape and feels good in my hand. I'm 5'7" and I put the handle piece at its lowest setting. If you are shorter than that the handle might be a little high, but workable. I love this design, haven't put it to a long test but anticipate no troubles because I will be careful of the plastic pieces that stick out and not exert lateral stresses on it when sitting. This cane is light, feels good in my hand and being carbon fiber the single leg that goes to the back when sitting will not bend and collapse sending you into a backward somersault or ER depending on your agility and reflexes... which you likely used and abused in your youth as I did, so sit on this thing properly, feet below you and balanced and you'll be fine. This is rated at 220lbs, I suspect the limitations are in the seat and plastic supports and not the carbon fiber leg. both of the aluminum and plastic ones that have failed me were also rated around 200-220#.The only minor disappointments are the plastic case is flimsey and not easy to carry on your shoulder and you have to pull the handle all the way off to close the zipper. Fine if you're packing it in your luggage, but who would do that when you need it? However, the folding design even with the handle attached fits nicely in the car and will not get damaged by the car door like one of mine that broke twice. The reviews seemed to complain about the plastic clamps that hold the folded legs. I don't see a problem at this point except when folding the legs up... the rubber foot hits those clamps, so you NEED to pull up slightly on the leg so it clears the foot when pressing it in. Those clamps are not subject to any other stresses, except perhaps when being stored or carried and banged against something. In the pictures I show 3 other types of folding canes, and one damaged seat that resulted in failure, but not because of use or flaw, but because it got between some luggage and the back door, it broke one of the leg supports, it failed while sitting in line, thankfully I was balanced, and sitting ready to stand as "normal", so when it started to give way to the left I was able to recover. I only had that cane with me on a long road trip so I bought some L brackets, bolts and nuts and fixed. I held up for over a year until the one time I wasn't paying attention the crack in the seat base from being closed in the door snapped loudly, my terrified cat exited the roomquickly and I landed right square on the left cheek executing a perfect SI adjustment, the Lord protects us in ways we never expect. But don't try to avoid your chiropractor by falling off your folding seat cane, because more than likely, if you're lucky, you'll see more of them!I've been using a folding cane seat for decades because of injuries in the army to my SI joint, knee and lumbar. I've had them break, or bend, it happens, if you use one always be prepared by keeping some weight on your feet and be ready to stand up. The two times I didn't I went over backwards, thankfully without injury. If you do not have good balance or at risk of breaking bones you would be wiser to use a good walker with a sturdy seat and locking brakes.1st picture, folded up comparison to another cane style that got caught between car door and luggage and eventually broke in 2 places.2nd picture shows 5 different styles, with this product being the most ideal.3rd pictures shows how to pull the leg up to clear the clamp so the rubber foot doesn't break the plastic clamps. The legs are attached to elastic and can safely be pulled up without damage. I have a regular cane using the same kind of elastic cord that was purchased in 1987 and still working despite being rubbed against a metal edge, THIS design with carbon fiber doesn't have a sharp edge.4th picture shows the different folding units I have for comparison. I really don't like the rounded handle of the one on the left, or the enclosed handle on the right. the 4 legged folding cane has a piece of material you suit on, better suited for ladies as it is can be somewhat uncomfortable for guys, but I use it carefully in the yard, it's not the greatest for walking but is stable.5th picture shows the 4 types folded for walking6th picture shows the bend/failure point of the back facing single leg, this is on the rounded handle cane that is being retired for use in the yard in soft grass. I did straighten it out but the metal will bend and break.7th picture, just another perspective of them in sitting position. If you're on a limited budget one of the folding kind will work and recommend the style handle this product uses and can be had for a third of the price, but it'll be heavier and take more space. This cane is not the most robust design but if handled carefully, not overloaded, or banged around it should last a long time, and if and when it should break one could replace the seat portion and use simple hardware to remount the legs.

This cane saved me
I'm 42 years old and about 280 pounds and recently got hit with sciatic nerve pain from my hip to the bottom of my right foot. i could barely walk, drive, go to work or even go to the bathroom if it required standing for more than 20 seconds. sitting or lying down it didn't matter. the pain was so bad i could barely sleep. i had to deal with my grandmother's funeral in this condition and it was awful. problem was i had a concert that i was very much looking forward to and not only was it my first concert since covid but I didn't want to leave my friend hanging who bought the tickets. the concert was DJ Shadow and it was standing room only so i figured I'd either bring some sort of folding stool and that's when i came across this saving grace. it was also available for next day delivery so i smashed that buy it now button. it couldn't have been any more perfect. it's a carbon fiber cane with a built in folding stool. it's light weight but strong enough to support my fat a$$. you sit on it AC Slater style which also gives you a sort of arm wrest. it folds and unfolds in seconds and even people without bodily issues were looking at me jealous that i had a place to sit. it would be perfect for hiking, camping, shopping, vacation, etc. definitely worth the price. my sciatica eventually subsided but a couple days ago i started feeling a little hint of it down the left side this time so at least i have it ready if i need it. it also comes in a storage bag with a strap so it wouldn't be a bad idea to keep one in the trunk of the car for emergencies.

Fits in suitcase
I buy a lot and rarely review. These are sturdy and collapse to fit in a suitcase for travel. We follow Collegiate Golf and other options were too long to fit. These are also handy and have a very lightweight case with straps to easily carry or out in a backpack.

What a relief
So amazing to have my own place to sit down. Taking the painful load off my knees in a long haul walk or slow line. I only wish the cane heigh/ or length allowed for one more inch (I’m tall). This is a great design and neither awkward nor heavy.

Great product if clamps held
I love the product. But did not start using it until the trip to Europe I am currently on. The clamp for one of the legs does not hold. Walking with both legs up, one keeps flopping down. This defeats the purpose. Now it’s too late to return, by 8 days, and I will have to figure something out to get it to work properly. If I could have returned it for a functional product I would give this 5 stars. If you buy this, use it right away. Make sure the clamps don’t release the legs with movement.
