Best work lamp I've ever had
I absolutely love this work lamp! The light is strong enough for any task, but can also be dimmed easily by tapping on one or both of the switches on top of the bulb housing. One of those switches controls the amount of warm light produced, and the other switch controls the amount of cool light. Maximum brightness is achieved by putting both the warm and the cool to their brightest setting. You can also tweak the temperature of the light by using more warm, more cool, etc. The multi-jointed arm of the lamp extends almost horizontal and stays where you put it. The head of the lamp also extends and rotates, allowing for you to position the light exactly where you want it. The lens gives me all the magnification I need for close work such as beading with tiny seed beads. When you need light but not magnification, you simply close the hinged cover that protects the top surface of the magnifying lens. As other reviewers have noted, this is a nice safety feature -- it prevents sunlight from striking the lens and creating a potential fire hazard. The round base of the lamp is compact, but still plenty heavy to keep the lamp stable, even when the arm is extended all the way, and the round base is much less of a trip hazard than the usual tripod-style or the four horizontal bars that my old work lamp had. I like this lamp better than some that are much more expensive. I'll be ordering this item again.

Terrific magnfiying lamp!
Looking for a magnifying lamp that will help while doing hand work such as knitting and embroidery, I purchased the Brightech Lightview Pro. It arrived quickly and well packaged and was simple to assemble. I am very pleased with the lamp - it provides a variety of lighting possibilities and is extremely flexible for adjusting the head for using as a magnifier or simply as a light. Having used a different magnifier light for many years, one of the problems has always been the gathering of dust on the magnifier. The Brightech has a clever plate that flips open and closed so that your magnifier remains clean. The lights stay cool to the touch and the lamp does not generate heat while working. The light is bright and can be changed to warmer or cooler tones depending on your needs. The magnifier, at 1.75x magnification, is plenty for me when I need the help seeing small stitches. I particularly like the rolling base, which adds to the flexibility of the lamp for me - my old lamp had a solid base which made it difficult to move it. With an extendable arm that can be moved into a variety of positions I was concerned that a rolling base might make the lamp unstable, however, the lamp is solid and stable even with the arm fully extended - at no time have I felt that the lamp would tip. The lamp is well made and, frankly, a steal at the price. We are now looking at purchasing another one for my father-in-law who suffers from macular degeneration.

Very Bright!
Very nice, I like that it is on wheels so I can move it from my desk to my chair with ease. The base has a very nice weight to it, so it does not tip over, and my 28 pound cat has used it to rub against so that makes it an awesome product.I cross stitch, and doing so has been a challenge at night, so this light has been a life saver and then some. The magnification at 3 diopter is perfect (You don't want to go higher, because you will see the fibers of the thread), and the light is bright enough to see what I am doing perfectly!I was worried about the quality because of the price, but this is a purchase I do not regret. It makes a great model building light, and reading light too!

Excellent product. The articulating arm has a wide range of motion.
Bought this product for my wife who does cross stitch almost year round. She loves the wide range of motion, the excellent magnification and lighting. I also use it to read small print on labels or other written media. Easy set up and package arrived in manufacturers box.Would recommend.

Looks nice and works well; can't fit full width of US letter in view, so is for smaller items.
I really like this lamp. Here are the minuses:1. It cannot read a US letter sized document without moving the letter left and right each line, since the focus distance is such that putting the entire width of the page in view would put it out of focus. Therefore, I think this lamp is for magnifying smaller objects, such as devices, small documents, and electronics.2. Make sure you know where the cord is, since it doesn't lay flat on the ground (i.e., a tripping hazard, and could potentially knock over the lamp) unless you make it do so, but that is easy with a few white zip ties. I wouldn't consider this a reason not to buy it, merely one additional step to arrange for in whatever installation location you have. Here are some of the pluses:A. The design is good, with a nice white finish.B. It has both a warm and cold light that you can adjust up and down and get the light "color temperature" you want. My only complaint is that it can't adjust down a bit more when I want it to be a bit darker. The fact that it is very bright can be a huge plus, though.C. The stand seems sturdy. It has a nice assortment of wheels. The lamp stays upright.D. I also got the desk lamp version, and I prefer this one, since it can move further and has a nicer look.
