Covert communications on a budget
Purpose:I got these as a replacement for my current acoustic radio earpiece.Good Qualities:• These are very similar to the acoustic tube earpieces that I have used for many years. It comes with mushroom earpieces in various sizes. There is an in-line PTT (push to talk) button that allows you to have a hidden microphone in addition to a less visible earpiece. This is all contained in a single cord, rather than separate wires for the microphone and earpiece.• The acoustic tubing can be cut to better custom fit different ear sizes and comes with a slip so that you can anchor it to clothing or accessories to keep it in place.• These are comfortable for long periods of use and are easily cleaned.Concerns / Complaints:• The 3.5 mm connector is straight rather than 90 degrees which makes it stick out and get caught on clothing or other items.• The audio is not as clean and clear as with digital alternatives, but that is typical with all acoustic tube earpieces.• With the microphone being on the same cable as the earpiece, it limits where you can place the microphone which can lead to accidental transmissions.The Verdict:These are good for covert radio listening for both amateurs and professionals that are on a budget. They are easy to maintain and comfortable to wear.

Just What I Needed
I am looking for a low cost intercom system for my recumbent tandem bicycle. Motorcycle Bluetooth systems are impossible to fit to a bicycle helmet (I tried), have miniature buttons that are difficult to blindly press, and I found difficult to sync between pilot and stoker.Low power walkie talkie systems offer a lot of value for money, and fitted with the covert speaker mikes, meet my requirements. I particularly like the provided push to talk button (which I have not previously found). Vox is difficult to use. Excellent functionality, sound quality, and value for money. Piece of cake to set up with a Cobra.

Mic activates on its own, creates static and interrupts work walkie network
Created a lot of static issues for other people on my work walkie network. Too late to return.

Good enough for in-ear
Worked fine with the radio and all was good, wasn't the most comfortable fit for the ear but it did work and was easy.

Works, but not universal, check your model of radio.
These would work well if I had the correct jack on my radio. You can hear the audio on ham type radios, but you can't activate the PTT, so it may be of some use if you use the PTT on the radio and speak into the radio mic.

Microphone could be better

They feel like they are made fairly well. The microphone is the weakest part. I can't be heard unless the microphone is close to my mouth. It does work okay clipped to my collar. I have to turn off the roger beep. Otherwise the beep is too loud at a volume where my voice can be heard. I think after a little use and experimentation, I may be able to get the microphone placement where they work better.

Great radio earpiece
Great earpiece for 2 way radio. Comfortable to wear, easy to use/plug and play. Great sound quality, perfect fit on my radio and really functional. I highly recommend it
