Works great
As a beginner potter, these tools really help me with shaping and smoothing my ceramic pieces. I use the orange, yellow and green ones the most. I like the texture of the silicone rubber, making it easy to handle. Overall works well as intended.

Nice set
I am only a novice at pottery, but for me, this was a nice variety of ribs. The variety of shapes and flexibility ensure having something that will be appropriate for your needs, at a reasonable price for a beginner.

Too stiff!
I returned them because they are too stiff to be of use to me.

Not beveled on both sides like most wooden ribs.
I do not like that they are beveled on one side, only half of the tools for shaping a pot feel like they’re backwards. My wheel spins counter clockwise and 5 of the tools are beveled for a wheel going clockwise. The flat side resists the clay .

Very useful
I use these to help smooth out surfaces and the different shapes and stiffness is very useful. I can make it work for both concave and convex forms and detail areas as well. In the photo I have the ribs organized by flexibility. It’s a practical range of flexibility options to choose from. If you know you only need one type that works for you then this would be overkill.

Great set!
I am a beginner potter, taking a class and learning the skill. I am so excited to use these ribs. It’s a great set that I will be able to use to shape walls while throwing. I’m also looking forward to being able to experiment with adding unique textures to my pieces, as there are a lot of options with these ribs! I also appreciate the holes, which will make it easy to hang them for storage.I did notice something that could potentially make one of the ribs unusable. It’s subtle, but I believe the edge shown in the picture is supposed to be smooth and there is an uneven spot. I think this would show up on your piece if you use this for throwing. However, as I said, I’m a beginner so it might could be buffed out. Just something to be aware of.
