Q: Are the speakers 4, 6 or 8 ohm?

Almost all home intended speakers are 8 ohm.

Q: What else will i need to go with this system? i see people mentioning recievers.

Firstly, these are great speakers for an average size room. I have them installed in my family room and they are terrific. Many people hook them up to a "receiver" (which can do a number of things). Mine is a Onkyo through which everything is "processed." The Onkyo has inputs/outputs for my (old tech) VCR, my DVD, my Netflix input and my DirectTV cable box. It also has an AM/FM receiver built in and is remotely controlled. Switching from mode to another is simple and painless. The output from the Onkyo goes directly to my LCD TV, my speakers and back to the VCR (yes I still have one) for recording. So, in sum, if you buy a TV, the speakers and a receiver/amp you're in business. A Sony BluRay (with built-in Netflix, Hulu, etc.) is really inexpensive and also a necessary as far as I am concerned. Hope this helps.

It is the same system but the difference is that Crutchfield is an authorized Klipsch dealer. Buying this system from any other seller on Amazon besides the one that says "ships AND SOLD by Amazon" means you do not get a manufacturer's warranty. You'll notice that the Klipsch products that are actually sold BY AMAZON (and not by third party sellers ON AMAZON) match the prices from other authorized dealers like Crutchfield, B&H, Best Buy. etc.

Q: Speakers are smaller than comparative systems like energy classics. Will this system fill my 20x16 living room with great sound?

These are really good sounding speakers but beware of the 100 watt limit. I have a little bit larger family room than noted and really like to crank up the sound at times. I am using a Yamaha RX-475 which is 115 watts and I have now blown two of the satellite speakers and I have had to replaced them with Yamaha speakers that can handle the wattage. So make sure your receiver wattage does not exceed 100 watts!!!
