Incredible Insights into an Invisible Contributor to America's and the Ally's Victory in WWII
Ask 100 Americans who Ernest Cunio was, and chances are none will know. So, make it 1,000: maybe, just maybe, 1 may. But even this is doubtful. And yet this man played such a vital, behind the scenes, role during WWII, helping our fledgling spy agency, as well as that of our ally, the UK, provide the support needed to withstand the Nazi's 5th column His skillful support of FDR and others was incredible. By his own choice, he remained invisible, and that's one reason he's unknown. Thanks to Thomas Maier for providing such a wonderful book. His research was extensive, and sheds so much light on what occurred during and after the war.So many others who were great contributors are highlighted throughout the text.Well written; and for me, a book I found difficult to put down.

Enjoyed the book.
I enjoyed the book with one caveat. I don’t believe the book was actually about Cuneo. He seemed to be mostly invisible in this book also. He would disappear as other characters took over. I never thought I got to know the man in the title. Having said this, the book contains a lot of great WWII history I did not know. Bottom line: I recommend the book.

whoa!
“The Invisible Spy” starts off with two Nazi spies walking through New York City, and one being hit by a car. Yes, Nazi spies in NYC! They were far from the only spies. Ernest Cune, a tough and smart Italian American guy who played NFL ball for the Brooklyn Dodger (yes football, not baseball) who becomes an intelligence go-between and political influencer. This book not only brings a ton of untold stories but all the big names like Fleming (yes Bond’s Fleming) and Wild Bill. If you love reading about true life spies, this is a great read.Thank you NetGalley and Hanover Square Press #TheInvisibleSpy #NetGalley
