Strong exfoliation, so best used about once a week for me. Obvious, pleasant fragrance.
4 ½ stars rounded up to 5. The 59 ml / 2 fl oz (it’s small) Papaya + Vitamin C / Ginger Root / Lactic Acid cleanser arrived in a branded box that wasn’t taped or sealed. A sunburn alert and directions are clearly listed on the box and bottle, but the directions state to use “2x daily” which will be far too often for many, including myself. Ingredients are on the box. The clear glass bottle was not sealed other than its white plastic cap.The first thing I noticed was the striking orange color and the amazing scent, which was obvious but not overpowering to my nose. The vague “Parfum/Fragrance” is listed last, but there are a few other perfuming agents as well if you choose to avoid or are sensitive to scents.I have mature but still acne-prone, combination skin. A small amount was enough to easily wash my face, and I followed the directions to “massage into lather on wet skin for at least 30 seconds and then rinse thoroughly”. My skin felt and looked super clean, but not tight or dry at all that first night. The next night I could tell it had been too soon to use this exfoliating cleanser again, as my skin craved my strongest moisturizer, which almost never happens. So, for most of us I think there will be a bit of experimentation needed before we figure out how long to keep the cleanser on and how often to use it.I should exfoliate more often than I do, and using this cleanser with glycolic acid, lactic acid, capryloyl salicylic acid, and salicylic acid (!) was an easy and pleasurable way to do that. My skin tends towards unevenness, so I’m appreciating this formula’s help with that. Niacinamide is one of my skin’s favorite ingredients because it is brightening and anti-acne, and I like that there are also several antioxidants and soothing ingredients to help offset all the acids, but I wouldn’t call this a gentle cleanser. Bottom line: This won’t be my daily cleanser but I’ll look forward to using it as needed.Vegan. Cruelty free icon on the box and bottle. An icon states the cleanser should be good for 12 months after opening. Made in USA with globally sourced ingredients

Gentle and effective but 2oz is small and pricey
I really liked this gentle exfoliating cleanser and I kind of wish it was bigger than 2oz! I used this once a week and found it very effective with a very pleasant (but not overly strong) fragerence. I can understand why it's pricey with quality ingredients, and my skin also didn't feel irritated (I have sensitive skin) and I actually enjoyed the cleanser a lot feeling refreshed. While on the pricey end, but I would recommend.

Very impressive acid based exfoliating facial Cleanser, skin instantly feels softer
I have never used a face wash quite like this. It is very thin and low-sudsing. I am not into scented face care products, but this smells wonderful. The papaya scent is so natural and fresh, like rubbing fresh papaya on your face. It also does not linger after you rinse. This must be an acid exfoliant because the cleanser has no grit. My skin felt immediately softer after rinsing off and drying. Super soft. Excess oil was also removed without my face feeling completely stripped or irritated—pretty impressive stuff. The instructions are a little confusing as to how often to use, but I think you should use this 3 times a week. Given how powerful it is, I believe that would work. My wife also tried it, and she was immediately impressed. She had a similar impression. She liked how well it cleaned and how the skin felt afterward. I have oily skin, while hers is more balanced. Both of us are acne-prone. We are both over 50.We will be using this instead of our normal cleanser 2-3 times a week, as the results are impressive and it’s quick and simple to use. It's essential to have an acid peel and cleanser in one that will save time and give you great results without being harsh. The acid exfoliant is tuned perfectly to refresh the skin without irritating it.

Great cleanser. Will buy the full size
I’ve been using the Youth To The People Superfruit Cleanser for a few weeks now, and it’s become one of those products I actually look forward to using. The texture is a smooth gel that lightly foams, and the scent is this really clean, tropical-fruit-meets-skincare kind of vibe, papaya and ginger with a citrusy brightness that wakes me up in the morning. What drew me in was the blend of AHA + BHA with papaya enzymes and vitamin C. I have some uneven texture and dullness, and this feels like a gentle way to tackle both. After a few uses (I do it about three times a week), I noticed my skin looked brighter and felt smoother, almost like it got a mini reset. It hasn’t dried me out, but I do follow with a hydrating serum and moisturizer just to stay balanced. If you have very sensitive skin, I’d probably recommend starting slow. It’s labeled “gentle,” but those exfoliating acids can sneak up if you’re not used to them.Overall, I love how refreshed and clean my face feels without any tightness or stripping. It’s a great in-between for those days when I want a little exfoliation without committing to a full peel or scrub. Definitely a new staple for me.

Don't Use if Going in Sun
This exfoliating cleanser arrives in a glass bottle with a twist on cap. The consistency is maybe a bit thinner than liquid soap, and it applies easily to the skin. It looks like it would have a grapefruit scent but it doesn't. There is a scent (but not citrusy), and it is mild and doesn't linger. The cleaner does clean well, and gives a slight foam when performing the exfoliating motion. I don't notice much in the way of exfoliating but do seem to get a slight glow like I do with Vitamin C serums.I was a bit surprised to see the package indicate use 2/daily and that sun exposure should be limited for a week after use. The listing says to use am OR pm, 3x/weekly, and I saw nothing noted about limiting sun exposure. It is spring time where I live, so I would not have ordered it right now knowing this. So -1 star for the inconsistencies that can have an affect on whether this product is appropriate for someone's needs or not!
