Behrens Hot Dipped Galvanized Steel Oval PlanterTub 10-1/2 Gallon

I bought this large tub for my dog to use as a water bowl. I originally used a small bucket but my dog always insisted on knocking it over. I tried tying it and everything but this clever girl figured out one way or another how to spill the water. Therefore, I decided to buy a larger tub that would be too heavy for her to tip over so I went bigger just to be safe. The tub has served its purpose and my dog has not been able to tip it over. It is large enough for her to lay in if she so desires which can also help if her concern is cooling off during the summer.

This is a nice size we used it for putting drinks on ice for a party worked great!

I used this for boiling deer skulls for cleaning. It was perfect for resting the antlers on the side to keep them out of the water. I was able to do two smaller and one large deer at one time and would be able to fit an elk skull in there. It was not affected by the heat from the burner and was easily cleaned afterwards. I also used it to soak them in hydrogen peroxide and the metal did not react to the solution.

I bought these troughs to plant a little quarantine garden I wanted to make and they are working out really. They were smaller than I had envisioned, but the veggies don't seem to mind, they are doing really well. I have two troughs that I drilled a 1/2" hole in the center for drainage, a layer of river rock and then planting soil. The one pictured I have planted: radishes, squash, carrots, celery. The other one has: brown onions, green onions, cucumbers, and bell peppers. At first I just had them sitting on the ground, but I was worried about critters getting into them so I made some stands and finally added caster wheels so I can easily move them around the back patio. The galvanizing is not the best, but they are troughs, they should develop a nice rusting after a while. I actually think being reflective has helped the plans as it has kept the soil temperature from getting too hot and drying out. I plan on adding two more troughs for some more veggies and herbs.

Got as a container to plant some vegetable's in . It rough 2 1/2' long about 12" wide and 12" high. Prefect to set on a deck.

The 10 Gallon was The perfect size for my party - it took up about 1/4 of my 6’ table at an angle. I didn’t notice any leakage from the ice. When I got it, I was worried it was going to be damaged since the GIANT box (which would have fit two of these) was basically open, fortunately it was ok. The tub is pretty sturdy, looks nice, and a great size.

Alot of people said they had issues with the bin not holding water or rusting or such, i had no problem. I left it outside directly in texas sun for multiple days full of rain water, then dumped it and left it in the sun where it filled up again. Held just fine and no rust! Ended up getting a washing machine, so I'm growing plants in it (:

This was purchased as used which was fine for my purpose as I used it to plant strawberries out in the backyard. Just the right size and easy to move, even when filled with soil. I drilled a few holes in the bottom for drainage - very easy to do. I would definitely purchase this size again for future plantings. I have been looking for this size steel tub in various nurseries, home improvement centers, etc. but could not find anything remotely close until I looked on Amazon and found this tub - exactly what I wanted!
