Our Samsung dishwasher started spewing water. At first we thought it was the drain, but figured out it was the door latch. While I was busy pricing new dishwashers, my husband watched a few you tube videos and ordered this part.8 screws held the door together and 2 screws held in the latch. My husband isn’t particularly handy with this sort of thing, but he did it just fine. Took less than 10min. Dishwasher works great. So very happy we didn’t have to buy a new dishwasher.

Good deal and an easy fix. Part fit great and functioned perfect on start up. It was the best price I could find and the fastest I could receive it.

The part received looked very different from the picture in the listing. Though it looks like it "might" work, the part they sent does not fit correctly and the unit will not run with it installed. I previously bought the "after market" part from another listing (for half the price of this listing) and found it did not fit. So, I bought this part specifically because they showed the exact part I needed in the picture, only to have it arrive and be the same "after market" part I bought elsewhere for twice the cost.

While this part has been redesigned, it still fits perfectly. Get some help holding the door frame open during installation, and wear light gloves! I cut my knuckles in several places on the sharp edges. This part saved me an expensive service call. It fixed our problem.

Was a little unsure with this after market product, but it fixed our dishwasher perfectly.

I checked appliance parts websites and the average price for this part is $63. We’ve had our Samsung dishwasher for 5 years. I didn’t think it would need a repair so soon. Our dirty dishes were piling up so I wanted a new door latch ASAP. I paid another $5 for Amazon 1 day shipping. Who knows how slow shipping is with the other sellers.Removing the T20 screws and replacing the old latch was super easy. Turn off power at your breaker panel first to be safe. Videos are available on YouTube if you want to see how it’s done. This is a simple fix you can do yourself and save money not hiring appliance repair.

Upon opening the dishwasher door, my old latch was not clicking all the way to the forward/"open" position, and when attempting to close the door again, the latch would be stuck in the "closed" position but the return portion of the latch was preventing the door from actually closing. This meant the dishwasher was not sealed closed. Mine never ran in this state, thankfully.Taking the door apart and swapping these parts out is pretty straightforward. This replacement part is different than my original latch, but it fit perfectly, and has worked perfectly for several washes and about a week of opening and closing the door.Don't be deterred by the latch in the photos looking different than what your unit has. It was an easy swap, plug and play. I recommend watching a certain YouTube video walkthrough. it's just a couple minutes long, but shows you exactly what you need to do. Search "Samsung Dishwasher Door Latch Replacement #DD8101629A" on YouTube; it's the 2 minute video, and it's great.

Ordered this to replace the original latch. As is readily visible, this is not the same part and not as pictured on Amazon. Latch will catch the door and allow dishwasher to start, but does not hold door fully closed and allows leaks immediately.
