IKEA DEKAD Alarm Clock

We like the classic look to this alarm clock, but you might find a couple of issues with it like we did. One problem with the clock is that you need to wind it up regularly. That really did not bother me too much. What is a little annoying with the clock is how loud the ticking is. If you need a room that is completely silent when you go to sleep, you are certainly not going to get with this clock in your room. We decided that this clock was not for us so we gave it away.

this is the best alarm clock that I have ever had, it keeps perfect time & the alarm is the loudest alarm I have ever heard on a battery powered clock. the clock that it replaces was a wind up clock that was impossible to regulate so it kept lousy time.

I didn't realize this was a fake wind-up. It is battery operated. I had really hoped for an ole-fashioned wind-up.

I'm kind of bummed out because after reading one of the reviews, stating that it was wind-up and had a loud "tick" (two features that I was looking for), I ordered it. Come to find out it isn't wind-up and it doesn't tick at all. :(

I love this clock! Of course it takes some getting used to as you have to wind it up almost every day. You also have to wind up the alarm. It is easy to set the time but I have found it very difficult to set the alarm. Maybe because it is still so new. It is neat because on the back at the bottom there is a little metal tab inside the casing that you can see through this slit. There is lines on the left and right above this slit and tab and a large line in the middle. I was wondering what in the world it was when it hit me! When I was a little girl my mom had a clock like this and that was the way that you adjusted it, if it was going to fast you moved the tab back a bit, if it was going to slow then you moved it forward a bit. Hopefully most of the time you can just leave it in the middle and forget about it. I think everyone should own one of these clocks. With all the work involved you truly appreciate it and when the alarm goes off in the morning you WILL wake up, believe me! It is turned off in an old fashioned way as well. Look just buy this clock, it is not that much money and you will absolutely love it, not to mention that it is actually becoming trendy to own this type of clocks again.

When I got it and put it the batteries in the tick tick is so quite I was not quite sure it was even working. What I thought was the second hand was actually the alarm hand so surprised me when it just randomly went off when I was setting the regular time.
