Nice Grip Without Being Too Rough
I bought these to put on the wood ramps on my trailer I haul a riding mower on.The bare wood ramps were difficult to drive up, and were pretty much impossible when it was wet. These made it easy to use the ramps, wet or dry, with no more skidding and sliding. The included screws were long enough and strong enough to keep them in place with a 1100 pound mower going up and down over them. The finish on them seems good, and has not deteriorated yet - but even if it does wear off, the treads are aluminum, so they won't rust anyway.I did not sue them as stair treads, but I have walked up and down the ramps, and I think they would be great for stairs, too.

Sturdy and effective
The wet wooden steps in front of the house needed something to make them safer. The glue type treads I’ve observed, last maybe 2 to 3 years, it seems. I was also concerned about residual glue. These screw attached treads are perfect. They are quite heavy duty and really grip. They’ve been on for three months and are like the day I put them on. It was easier for me to screw these in than preparing the wooden steps for gluing. I also need to add that my steps are out fully in summer sun and rain here in southern Alabama.

This is my second big purchase from this company I am very happy with the quality
My honest review here!I had purchased 15 of these about two years ago for my previous home. They are solid and probably will last 50 years.I since moved and needed something to protect my new stairs and also us from slipping. They installed in less than 5 minutes and elevate the look of the stairs and also offer safety from slipping. I generally don't leave reviews unless truly warranted. Also being aluminum and in about 13 hours of direct sunlight was the right choice for my home. I had a set of plastic ones in my cart but they would surely warp and not last in this weather. I figured if I an putting holes in my new wood, I wanted to only do it once.Great company and great product!

Very sturdy and pricey - good in the snow
Because these are solid metal, they are not cheap. But if you don't have a lot of steps to cover they are great. I screwed all mine down and they look good and more importantly are effective. Our front porch steps can get a little slick sometimes so I put these on each one. Through the cold, snow, ice...I felt safe stepping on them since the raised divots your shoes from sliding.

very well made!
i put these on the running boards of my truck to prevent my passengers from slipping when getting into my truck. they are tough and very non-slip! i highly recommend them if you want to prevent slips and falls. they will last for several years because they are made of very heavy guage aluminum. to me, it is worth every penny in the price not to have a friend get injured because of a slip and fall.

Happy with this purchase.
I purchased two of these for the tailgate on my aluminum trailer. Aluminum, especially in the winter is very slippery and dangerous to walk on. I finally got tired of nearly breaking my neck each time I walked up the ramp. I installed these with self-tap screws and they work great. The footing is now 100% and no more slip and slide. They work so well and are well made that I ordered more for another project.

Better than stick tread
This is my third attempt to solve a slippery wooden stair case issue. I've tried the stick adhesive treads and they make it through one Chicago winter and peel off. I'm excited to try these metal treads.First, I removed the old adhesive treads. I sanded and painted the wooden stairs. Second, I installed the metal treads. They have a nice length and have raised bumps to help with traction. Each bag comes with black screws. All bags provided an additional black screw in case you hit a knot in the wood and strip your screw which happened to one of my screws. The black screws look like nice upon first install, but after a week of walking on them the black paint came off and they are silver screws that can be seen on the black tread. I am hoping the treads make it through a Chicago winter and help since it cost me $100. :) We are hoping just to get one more winter out of our wood stairs before we replace them. I do feel like when we do replace them, these treads can be uninstalled and used in another manner.Edited: quality stair tread....CHEAP SCREWS that strip easily and black paint comes right off. Would have used better quality screws.
