Comfortable and hard wearing
Bought these some time ago, mainly for autumn/winter dog walking and light hiking. Very comfortable, didn’t require breaking in, and genuinely waterproof. They look reasonably smart too so you don’t feel totally daft wearing them in other settings. The suede can get muddy but a decent suede brush soon takes care of it. A good purchase, if your looking for quality walking boots these are definitely worth a look.

Never get a bad boot from Berghaus
Great price, great value, nice fitting, fabulous boot. Not too heavy but very sturdy.

Looks good
The sole is very comfortable and feels nice, also keeps feet warm in winter. Can be used for casual wear. As it looks very nice. Weight is a bit on the heavier side. Leather quality is alright and it's got good grip.

Good quality boots
When i opened the box i thought they're were a great looking pair of boots. I'm normally a size 9 but one foot is ever so slightly longer than the other and almost all my shoes/boots area compromise once my feet warm up so i opted for the 9.5. I've never tried a half size before but i'm really glad i did. After a long walk i do find the insole a little hard under the balls of my feet (my reason for 4 star comfort rating) so perhaps i'll try and switch these out to see if it helps, they're certainly not uncomfortable and this is a minor issue for me, it may not be for you. What i really like is when its time to take them off, they're so easy to remove, I'm guessing because of the way the ankle is designed. Just so much better than all my previous brands of walking boots and the difference was instantly noticeable.I've walked early mornings through heavy dew on grass, through streams and muddy puddles and so far they've held up well with no leakage/wet socks. Coming down steep slopes i no longer get the toe pinch i was used to on my size 9's so if this is something you notice too, the half size is well worth considering.Overall I'm very happy with these and they're my first Berghaus boots.

Brilliant!
I have used Berghaus products for over 30yrs, but bought a cheaper, but not cheap pair of funny names boots. They were waterproof, until the sole came away after a year of occasional use. So back to Berghaus and a £30 more…Arrived next day, fitted as I hoped they would, quite slim fit. Went for a 6mile walk this morning including lot of shingle beach, no issues, pinches or hot spots. Really comfy and warm in freezing frosty weather and they seem to be very well built. Good colours, good looking, good fitting… more than good boots. Not tested their waterproofness… yet, but no reason to think there will be any issues.

Fantastic 👍
Great boots.Hardly know you have them on they are so comfy.Gave them some abuse on a week in Wales - from Waterfall walks in the rain to a yomp up and down Sugar Loaf they performed brilliantly and kept me feet dry, comfortable and with secure grip on mud, grass, rocks, etc etc.Add to that the fact they cleaned up very easily and look almost like they are out of the box after around 60 miles (so far) of pretty tough use and they get my vote 😁Not the cheapest but they are in my opinion worth every penny.

Waterproof only until very wet
I've only received these today so this isn't a review but a comment on sizing. My feet are EU 42.5/UK 8.5 and fairly wide. Reading reviews of these boots suggested that they are very slightly narrower and tighter than some other footwear, and I sometimes need arch supports below my shoe insole, so I bought size 9. I think they're just right. With a mid thickness sock (and no extra arch support) I still have a bit of wiggle room in the toe box and the fit overall is snug and easily managed with the laces. I'm just padding about the house in them for the moment to get used to them so I'll use them properly later and add to this.Edit August 2023: these boots are a great fit and very comfortable. My feet love them and they love my feet.Edit May 2024: I got a good soaking today. When I set out my Berghaus boots were clean and dry, snugly laced up, and I was wearing them with very good walking socks. There was a very heavy rainstorm. I wasn't walking through long grass, only stony tracks and woodland paths. In only half an hour water had leaked into the toe box, through the boots, not via the top of my socks so far as I can tell. Luckily I was just a few miles from home so I didn't get cold but I'm not impressed. I still think these boots are extremely comfortable and nicely lightweight, but they are not waterproof. I've had a similar experience with very expensive Karrimor GTX boots many years ago, and I suspect that boots with fabric panels simply cannot be made waterproof in the same way as a leather boot.
