Great item
Great product to set immersion timer. Got an electrician to install. WiFi connection very straightforward. You need to ensure you can connect to a 2.4 GHz WiFi connection, it won't work on 5 GHz. No issues with app, very straightforward

It works!
I needed to replace the mechanical timer that brakes down every 2 years. It controls a gas boiler.I decided to check on thew new available technologies. For the price what I found in this little gadget is excellent. The wiring is the trickiest part of the installation. So I decided to connect wires to the timer and then connect them to the wires coming out of the wall. That worked OK so then the nest thing was the Wi-Fi connection. I have a router that works on two bands, 2.4 and 5GHz. That was not good. I had to use an old router that works only on 2.4GHz. That worked like a charm. I got it online in two minutes. So in order to control the timer I have to keep my phone connected to the 2.4GHz network. That's not an issue actually. The app is very basic and that is not bad at all. Turn on, turn off, schedule some ON times and that's it.There is also an ON/OFF switch in case you do not want to use the app to control it.Very happy with it.

Reasonable Wifi relay
I have recently installed this switch and used for a few days. It is a decent product but with a few issues.HardwareThe instructions aren’t that clear and the switch is quite fiddley to install – the wire binding post don’t seem to be that strong and it's not easy to attach solid mains core. However I finally managed to install the switch.Software• It's easy to install the appropriate software using the QR code in the instructions. A piece of advice is to make sure your phone is set to 2.4 ghz wifi, as I had issues connecting to the switch when my phone was set to 5 ghz.• Software is reasonably functional – has the usual cloud based switch on, switch off, timer settings and countdown timer.• The button on the device only switches on or off – would have liked the option to apply 30 minute or 1 hour boost when the button is pressed.• Connects to both Alexa or Goggle Assistant – I have tried both and it works reasonably well, though there is no option of using the countdown timer in this mode.In summary a decent connected switch and hopefully the manufacturer will keep updating the firmware and software to keep the device functional.

Works, and pretty easy to install
Works very well. I have four of them installed. The C-Home app which controls them is fairly basic but does everything I want or need. I understand it also works with Tuya Smart, which has more features, but I haven't tried it.The only slightly tricky thing is that when setting up the devices using your phone, you need your phone to be connected to the 2.4 gHz band of your wifi. If you have a modern wifi router, it will probably be dual-band, i.e. both 2.4 & 5 gHz. The Optimum switch will connect to the 2.4 gHz band, but your phone will probably connect to the 5 gHz band. That won't do for purposes of setting up the device. You need to work out a way to connect the phone to the 2.4 gHz band. Once that's done you can set up the device, and after that you can allow your phone to connect to the 5 gHz band again, it is no longer necessary for it to use 2.4 gHz, since it then communicates with the devices using the cloud server. Not essential, but I recommend you use an electrician to do the wiring.Anyway, it's a great relief not to have to use those mechanical pin-wheel timers any more.

Excellent timer managed via iPad/iPhone app. Easy to use and genuinely a 2-way (SPDT) switch.
Excellent timer managed via iPad/iPhone app. Easy to use and genuinely a 2-way (SPDT) switch. Five separate terminals: L+N for the timer, NC, NO & common for the switch - this makes it very flexible as it can be used to switch one input between 2 outputs, or to switch between 2 inputs for output.I am using it to I use it to swap the feed to the immersion heater from the solar diverter unit (day time) to mains (an hour at night, to use off-peak in the winter when there’s not enough sun). The immersion heater is connected to the common, NC is the output of the solar diverter (Solamiser), NO is 240v live. So, timer-off (normal) = excess solar power heats water, timer-on = hot water heated directly from mains.Plus points:It is genuinely a 2-way switch (apart from one reference to SPDT, the description does not clarify this)Instructions are fairly clearNo issued installing the app on an iPhone, although the AppStore kept auto-correcting chome to chrome, which made it hard to find - bad choice of app name :-(Setting up was fairly straight-forward, you just need to select the check box in the app to make the ‘continue’ button become active during one of the setup steps. While you can’t manage it from multiple chome accounts, you can sign-in (and remain signed in) from the same chome account on multiple devices.App is pretty easy to use.Minus points:Wiring is a little cramped - especially when using 5x 2.5mm/16A cables. It's a couple of mm larger than a standard UK faceplate. The screw hole pitch is half a mm out for a standard UK backing box.Took one star off for last last two - pretty poor getting the size wrong when this version so specifically made for the UK to fit UK standard boxes!!!!

Works well with Tuya app
As others have noted, the wire connections are fiddly to make and you may need to connect your wires to a separate connector block and then run wires from that. Apart from that downside, the unit works well. Connection to wifi is straightforward and the Tuya app (I used the iOS version) provides good daily schedule control. I use it to switch on an immersion heater in a hot water storage tank utilising Octopus off peak tariff which has saved me a fortune.
