I took a chance, but my hunch was right. This is a quality speaker selector.
I had previously been using a Radio Shack speaker selector in my home studio, switching back and forth between two sets of passive monitors. The Radio Shack worked fine for quite a few years, but it eventually became scratchy and intermittent. When the audio dropouts got to be too frequent and annoying, I started shopping for a better-quality selector.I was a little hesitant about buying this selector because it doesn't have a brand name on it, didn't have any reviews, doesn't have much information about it online, seemed to be lacking some labeling on the back, and it isn't popular on Amazon (well, not yet anyway) but it looked to be better quality than the cheaper wire-clamping selectors out there, so I bought it.The first thing I noticed is the quality construction. It feels like a quality product, and the rocker switches are solid. The second thing I noticed is that it's significantly bigger than what I had pictured in my head (literally about twice the size of the Radio Shack) so I had to move a few things around to make a place for it. The third thing I noticed is that it does have additional "right" and "left" labeling on the rear of the unit. (The product photo must have been taken before they added it.)How does it work? Perfectly! Using gold-plated banana plugs, I connected my speakers to the selector, turned on my amp, and everything worked right away. There's no hint of scratchiness. The audio comes through both pairs of speakers as good as a direct connection. The longevity of this speaker selector is yet to be determined, but from my experience unboxing it, hooking it up, and using it for the first time, it's an uncontested five stars.EDIT: Over five years later, it's still working as perfectly as the day I got it.

Best Speaker Switch for the Price
If you have 2 pairs of speakers you either want to switch between or use both, this is the best switch I found. It doesn’t make any pops or noise when switching while the audio source is playing back, and it manages the impedance regardless of whether you use one or the other or both.Very easy to connect speaker cables and it works with locking banana plugs, standard banana plugs or bare wire. I do not use bare wire though I tested a pair of speakers with one.I highly recommend this speaker switch.

It's made like a Tank
This thing is hefty and solid. It has a paper seal on one of the bottom 4 screws so you can't open the cover or you'll void the warranty. After ringing it out with my ohm meter I opened the cover. I found heavy duty wiring possibly 12 gauge with stake on terminals and two 10 watt-100 ohm ceramic resistors soldered in there. I guess the resistors were in there for an open circuit load but were not in the right place or as it turns out even necessary. I rewired the unit by prying off some of the stake on jumpers and putting them where they were supposed to go. Including the resistors. So that the right side was right and left side was left and I had 100 ohms across the right and left inputs. I then un-soldered the resistors and removed them to test the unit. I got clear sound out of all of my speakers and have no popping or hissing when turning my speakers on or off. So the resistors were not necessary for my set up. I'm glad I bought this unit even though it was miswired. It was made so you could easily correct the wiring and it is very solidly made. If you're a little handy you should take a chance and get one of these selector switches it's worth it. (and yours may be wired correctly)

Power Splitter
This unit is just what it says it is, a splitter allowing alternate pairs of speakers to sound or be silent. The feature most desired is its capacity for high power, and the connections proclaim this. It doesn't have separate volume controls, but this is not required for most applications. I don't want to use it for different zones or rooms, but for a single room with peculiar acoustic properties. If the two inputs were to be powered by separate amplifiers, you could have a modicum of discrete volume controls; I don't need this. The unit is especially well and carefully made and assembled.

This unit is built like a tank.
I’ve been using it for about a month. It works as advertised. There is no audible “pop” when switching speakers on & off. Very happy with this purchase.

Quality product and simple to connect
This 2 way speaker switch was exactly what I needed and the quality of the construction and connections was beyond my expectations. I needed this to allow the use of two speaker sets with a Sonos Amp. I tested the sound before and after and there was simply no reduction in sound quality. Worth every penny!
