Bon Jovi greatest album
However, not really happy with the remastered version., sounds too sharp.. but this album is a must for 80s heavy metal lovers.

The best album
This album was the biggest Bon Jovi album ever. More than 20 million of copies sold. We got real rock anthem such as "Bad Name" "Prayer" or "Dead or Alive" and also, amazing powerful songs like "Die for You" or "Wild in the Streets", not forgetting lovely ballad like "Without love" and "Never Say Goodbye" and some other great songs. The original order of the album wasPink FlamingosRaise Your HandsEdge of a Broken HeartNever EnoughNever Say GoodbyeSocial DiseaseDie for YouWild in the streetsDead Or AliveBorderline(Bad Name was plained for Loverboy and Prayer was rejected by Jon)After a lot of doubts about the album, Desmond Child was called and he made the big change over the album. Never Enough was changed for Let it Rock, and the initial version of Never say goodbye that was wrote and sang by Richie Sambora was recorded again twice and changed by Jon's version. Bad Name was fully recovered and converted to a classic one, Prayer was included and turned out to a Hit. Borderline was left for a promotional single with the same name and Edge of a Broken Heart was left as a soundtrack. On 2005 the album was remixed on a 5.1 audio version. We have seen many bon jovi albums but if you wanna know the spark of their glory... This album will be the whole story.

Stereo Master could be better
One my fave albums of all time. The album itself gets six stars ;o)I bought this hoping for an 'audiophile' stereo master. I have the previous 90's era remaster and I also bought the recent special edition. As suspected the new special edition is mastered to be very loud. It sounds ok, probably because the music itself comes from a time when everything wasn't 'in your face' and has some room to breath within the mix. However, with the special edition coming in with average RMS levels of -9.x, I was hoping the stereo mixes on this 'dual disc' would be far more conservative.Turns out the CD stereo master is only marginally less limited. Average RMS levels of -10.x but unlike the special edition that peaks at something like -0.2db, the dualdisc hits 0db which is another surprise given the risk of inter-sample clipping from the limiting. In reality, it's a much of a muchness as -0.2 is nowhere near low enough to prevent ISCs and lo and behold both masters a riddled with them. The biggest disappointment of all is that the 'hi-res' DVD-A stereo masters are just as bad! In fact, they are identical aside from being 96/24 vs 44.1/16. This is a disgrace as the DVD-A is supposed to be about the best audio quality. I guess they've just included the 96k version as a bonus (as it will have been created as part of the mastering process anyway) rather than doing a new master for the DVD-A. I'm sceptical about the advantages of 96k/24 for a playback format itself so having the same heavily limited material in this format is no advantage. And for those of you who are interested in frequencies above 20k (whether you can hear them or not)...well, I didn't see any on this master so don't worry ;o)I should point out that I don't have a surround set-up and perhaps (and it seems from the other comments) that the surround mix is great. Must get surround!!!I don't know if this will be of any use to anyone as dualdisc is on its way out so I understand, but if I save someone some money then great...Mind you, the album is so good it's probably worth it regardless, haha.
