EMB Professional Sound System EB831EQ Graphic Equalizer/Limiter with Type 3 NR for Home/DJ Performance/Club/Studio/Stage/Show/Entertainment

Very powerful PA System Amplifier. This amp with run your electric bill up very quickly. It uses a lot of power. I'm running both channels to 2 separate custom 15" Eminence enclosures with passive crossovers, built in, through the EMB 48 channel outboard EQ, two 24 channel Mackie mixers, a DAC, to a Mac Mini and I can only turn the volume 2-3 notches from 0 at max, before the neighbors call the police. This amp would pair much better with a pair of 1000-2000 watt 15-18" passive PA system drivers.Overall a great bargain for the price. Very powerful, but draws a lot of current from the AC socket. For anyone of the previous reviews that stated the fans are too loud, they are audible but for the power that this amp produces you wont even hear once your system is at around 53db.

This item allowed me to greatly enhance the manner in which my stereo system sounds.I can bring the very subtle sounds from certain instruments to the front.

I have this exact model unit for at least 7 years now, only recently I found out of its availability once again and bought another unit to support my other set of mics. It works very well for home environment, although I expect that it would work just as well in a much larger venue like community hall or public park area. What I like most about this unit is its sensitive low range frequency gain (+6/-6) and high frequency gain (+15/-15) which is perfect to fine tune and tease out specific frequencies to make the microphone pops. The noise cancellation filter definitely helps smooth out the final sounds.

Excellent product, well worth the money. Works great! Good quality build, front panel and the entire unit is made all with steel and almost no plastic. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Very nice unit if you have a need for it. It is same as dbx 2231 but costs less than 40% of the dbxunit on another well known AV Photo site. It came in a box marked 2231 with an EMB label slappedon the end. The user manual even mentions dbx in it. Manual doesn't really tell how to use it, justthe features. If you need one you would probably know how to use it.I have it hooked up to 2 Outlaw 2200 monoblocks using balanced outputs. It's inputs are from thepreouts of my Yamaha RX-A 1040 for my left and right front speakers. (Axiom Audio M80HP V4s)This relieves the receiver of driving the main channels and allows me to equalize them.The unit has other features that I don't use, but would be useful to DJs and other live sound set upssuch as churches. I am a semi-pro recording engineer; recording church groups and otherchoral, band and orchestral ensembles.

Major power loss when turned on and creates a weird static noise like your trying to pump 5000 watts through your television speakers . Save your money it's not worth it.

There is nothing not to like about that unit, the only thing users need to know if, not a pro. Do not use an audio jack with 3 distributer, only the 2 connectors, mine works with 3 because. I know what to do, but it’s not the product, it’s just connection setup.

This is for the EMB831EQ ( dual channel ). The top EQ worked fine. The bottom EQ had a noticeable hum. I'm not sure if this is a design problem or a problem with this particular unit. On the bright side, Amazon made it very easy to return the unit and they promptly refunded the full cost to my credit card. No complaints whatsoever about the return process !!
