Movie theater taste without the artificial dyes.
Our family really enjoys making popcorn at home. We use this with a generous glob of coconut oil and the house fill the that distinct movie theater aroma. Instructions are clearly intended for "commercial" users, so you will need to cut down the portions quite a bit for small batches.

It’s salt, only better
After a lifetime of using regular table salt, this is a great change. Add it directly to the oil with the kernels and you’re done.

Salty but great in moderation
We started using this product recently for popcorn. We use coconut oil and some of the flavacol for the popping medium, put it in low heat, and once it has heated enough for popping some test kernels we use the heated oil for the rest of the batch. It has a nice movie popcorn salty taste. I've found that putting less is a good idea as it's very salty so it is easy to overdo it.So yeah, great in moderation.

Tasty addition to Microwave popcorn blahs
Just to be safe I bought the version without dye. I added a little salt to the shaker because of personal preference and am quite happy with the product. I don’t use the coconut oil spray and about a third of it ends up in the bottom of the bowl… but hey, I save on napkins!

Not what I expected
My family loves popcorn so I went on the hunt to make the perfect theater popcorn and came across this. First, it’s a huge amount for the price. It could last you a year plus depending on how you use it. A little goes a long way with this flavoring, but even with a little, it was a little too salty for my taste and did not give me theater popcorn flavor. If you don’t mind a little saltiness, then this is for you.

Premier Flavacol - no artificial coloring!
I've used and loved Flavacol popcorn salt for years, but finally ran out and discovered my local grocery stores only carry one brand of popcorn salt that is utter crap. I went to re-order Flavacol but realized the original version has artificial coloring. I've become more aware of that over the past few years and try to avoid it if possible. At first I thought the Premier Flavacol was just a different/retro package design and almost passed over it and then read the description and discovered it does not contain artificial colors! They really should highlight this better in the product title. Anyway, I was worried that it would taste different than the original, but I don't notice any difference. For those people who complain that this salt is too salty (?), you should be aware that it is a very fine texture. It's that fine texture that helps it cling to popcorn far better than regular salt, and even better than the nasty popcorn salt I got at the grocery store. You're probably going to apply way too much salt if you try to use this in a normal salt-shaker. I thankfully still have a very old popcorn salt bottle with very small holes. I make my popcorn with no oil in a microwave popper, apply a little non-stick spray (can't imagine any salt sticking to dry popcorn) and then shake on some Flavacol. I'm addicted.I wish Flavacol would make a cool shaker with a flip-top lid that's designed for their salt. I really wish they would then send me one to test and review. :)
