Soooo, I bought this as an alternative to the the (in my opinion) grossly-overpriced Wonder Tape. I read reviews of other similar alternatives made (or at least shipped) by other companies wherein people had complained of a noxious chemical smell coming off the tape. One person asked whether that was a problem with this tape, and the response sufficiently reassuring, so I decided it was worth a try.Upon opening the package, I didn't notice a scent of any kind, and promptly forgot about the problem. When I actually used the tape though, the chemical smell that came off it upon ironing the fabrics together was unmistakable. But this is not my chief complaint.It gummed up my sewing machine's needle almost instantly. It's supposed to be an inexpensive basting tape... Why doesn't it function as such? I replaced 3 needles before I got a zipper replaced on a backpack. It's not a large project. It's not even a particularly hard project. It took longer to change and rethread needles than it did to do anything else, because this tape kept ruining them.I don't consider that a functional alternative.That's what I get for trying to be thrifty.

The price is certainly as good as the Dritz brand, and a lot more of it for the price. It sticks on about as well as the Dritz did for me - which wasn't that great - but, I iron it on once I have folded the edge of fabric over it and that seems to help. It helps me to get the 1/4" fold that I want, so I guess I got my money's worth.

I bought this for zippers but I have been using little pieces to secure the ends of seams that are really small. Specifically, I am replacing some squares in a quilt top. The space is limited, so I use 1/2" pieces to lock the edges in place, then pin the middle to resew. Works great!

I installed a large zipper on a traditional Choctaw ceremonial dress for a friend. This tape made it much easier to do. Not sure I could have done it as easily without the zipper tape. Thank you.

While the reviews for this item were so-so I took a risk and purchased it. Very very happy with the quality of it and how it sticks. Definitely better than what I purchased in the past from another online shop. It also peels of nicely and no funny scent or bad residue.
