No there is no brushed steel on the light

sorry, the light we have now is not this model. We actually changed it because it was exceedingly bright, in a smallish study - pretty sure it was 30cm square too. We now have a round one, probably a bit over 22cm.

The ceiling light cannot be dimmed

The fittings should be the same. You slide out the old unit and slide in the new.
