So far, so good. I don't use it much though. A friend has a different model, also a hand crank, and she uses it a lot -- no problems at all. I have to say using it is fun and especially good for a person with small hands (me).

How many decks of cards does it shuffle?

It will shuffle 2 decks into 1 deck ( does not keep each deck separate once shuffled ) If you only want to shuffle one deck you need to put half on each side. And then it will mix that back into one deck.

Could this work with cards that have card sleeves on them?

I don't know, never used card sleeves, works good for regular cards since young kids are not able to shuffle yet.
