It's not coloured but not really glossy. Just an ordinary lip salve.

Mine won't wind down, they only wind up. Have I got faulty ones? Not great for my kids, they love winding them upwards then get crushed in the lid.

Hi There, mine also does not twist up and down, just up which is fine for everyday use - just twist up when you want to use it. For kids however - not so great i'm afraid. Burt's bees also does a tinted lip balm in a brown tube which i now buy - this one can be twisted up and down :-)

It says it has a shimmer which I’m guessing is a light shimmer (what I’m looking for). I’m wondering if it feels silky on your lips or quite gritty?

It is a very light shimmer and feels silky. I use Burts Bees lip balms all the time as they are great colours and moisturise well
