I have the same sig p365 as you and i use a small Nikon camera bag. Our gun so small most pouches too big for it.

Will this work for a full-sized 1911 that is almost 9 inches long with the beavertail?

I would say yes.. I just measured the pouch. It is 9in itself. Considering the beaver tail on the 1911 it might fit tight but the pouch does loosen up with use.
