Intex Garden Hose Drain Plug Connector

I am not blaming Amazon for this however, it does not fit my pool. I see that it says garden hose adaptor on the description but the diameter of my pool drain is an inch and a half wide. This adapter is only 1 inch on both ends. So it will fit on a standard garden hose but not onto the pool drain spout. I need one that is an inch and a half to the drain side and 1 inch to the hose side.

What a piece of junk. The fit with the hose adapter is incredibly loose, with so much wiggle that it can’t really be tightened. I found that if I angled it just right it would allow water flow without leaking, and had to put a rock under it to keep it at that angle. Draining pool was slow, possibly because of the bad fit. The fact it worked at all is why I gave it two stars rather than oneOne would think the adapter could be made to fit a standard 3/4” garden hose assembly with ease. Apparently not.Charging $14-18 for this thing (depending on seller), even as a specialty adapter, is truly unfair. The only reason I won’t send it back for a refund is the poor excuse for threading is damaged from a single use trying to get it to fit the hose with any kind of seal.

I bought this same product last year to drain my pool and missed placed it over the winter. I had no issues at all with last year’s connector leaking from the connection site. I just received the connector today and began draining my pool, the connection at the pool is loose and causing water to flood out. Unfortunately once the adapter is plugged in the only way to stop the water is to get in the pool and reattach the plug from the inside, Which it is far too cold to do. By the time the pool is done draining my area will have significant amount of flooding which I’m not happy about. I have attached an image of the leaking from just two minutes after the connection was made.

Like many other reviewers, I found that a standard hose will not fit this very well. I tried three different ones. The first kept popping off completely, the second leaked badly, and the third was a perfect fit but because it was an expandable hose (the water barely tricked out) it wouldn't let the water run out properly. Not enough pressure perhaps? It would have taken all week to drain the pool. Sadly I am sending it back.

Purchased this item in late summer, 2019. Went to install it June 2020. Couldn't get it to stop leaking. Cussed and swore. Then while looking for another Intex related item, found same item from my sister's pool that she had prior to 2005. I measured the thread diameter on new one and found it to be 25 mm, my sister's old one is 26.35 mm, quite a difference when the hose threads deaths are only 1.80 mm, I could literally push a hose connector on to plastic new one, not turn hose connector at all. The old one is installed with no issues. They only look alike.

Item not as described. Was sent a adapter with pipe thread instead of garden hose thread. Threads are too small and slip right past garden hose as you tighten. Contacted them about there mistake to hopefully exchange it for the correct adapter. The reply I got was"Can I get an image of what you received?"So I sent side by side pictures next to something that has real garden hose thread. I took measurements and even did a side by side of the threads so you could see the difference. All all this evidence. The response I got was"have you tried it the other way?"At this point I'm done. Have started a return and a complaint against the seller with amazon customer service. If you need intex pool parts buy it directly from the intex website. Not through this seller.

The item did not fit on any garden hose that I had (I tried 3 different ones). It leaked out the sides each time I hooked it up and made a huge mess. I sent the return about 2 weeks ago and have heard nothing. It was also overpriced for the quality. Very disappointed in this product.
