Its Meeting Expectations So Far
I have been looking for a versatile beard trimmer for a while now and none have completely met my expectations. My facial hair grows fast and some trimmers aren't strong enough, have poor quality guards, have poor battery systems, the list goes on. Beard trimming is an ongoing process and a trimmer can't get summed up in one simple review. It's a process and in order to review the process with this trimmer I am going to do my review in parts.PART 1:I just got the trimmer today but I wanted to give an initial impressions review. I grew my beard to about 15mm in preparation for this trimmer. All I wanted was a neat trim and some no guard cleanup around the edges. My last trimmer was very powerful with a very long lasting battery but for some reason it didn't clip the hair good. It actually cut some hair partly and when i did a light tug of the hair, it would break into sharp shards that actually stuck in my finger and were a pain to get out at times. I never had a trimmer that would do that before and it was upsetting since I really liked all of the features on that trimmer. It had a long lasting rechargeable battery and even though it took 6-8 hours to charge, it would last me for two months of grooming on a single charge. I also liked that the trimmer could be used while plugged in because sometimes you just don't realize how low the battery is and when it dies, you just hope you're not halfway through your trim. The guards are removable but there are only 5 of them giving me few options of length.I have to say, this trimmer did an excellent job tonight with the trim. It wasn't quite as powerful as my last trimmer but it cut even and smoothly and got most of the hair on the first pass or two. I set it to 3.5mm, one of 20 options for lengths to trim. It cut the hair well and cleanly. No sharp shards of hair partly cut and ready to stab my finger. Taking off the guard was easy and cleaning up the edges was done well with the guardless trimmer. Unlike my last trimmer, it wasn't very sharp or hard on my face without the guard. I have used trimmers that were even easier to use without a guard but this one wasn't bad for me, at least for cleaning up. I also really like it when a trimmer has an integrated guard that changes lengths easily and reliably like this one does. I didn't worry that the guard would fall off or change lengths during the trim. Finally, you can use this trimmer while it is plugged in and although it won't charge during use, the ability to use it plugged in is key for me.For my first use of this trimmer, I can give it 5 stars and happily recommend it for giving a nice even shave with a lot of length options and a integrated guard. Also, the price doesn't break the bank for what you get. I will continue to update this review over the next few months after I get more time with this trimmer.Part 2:Second trim, still on first charge without any signs of running out of juice. Total time used about 8-10 minutes in total.I decided to test out a slightly shorter length of 3mm. It worked just as it did before. It took a few passes to catch all of the flat hairs but successfully trimmed me even without much cleaning up with a small scissors. I cleaned up my neck and so I set it to 1mm and it was easy to see where the cut would start and make clean lines from my beard to my neck. It cleaned up well and left very few longer hairs that needed an extra pass.I did more trimming without the guard and found it to be very easy on my cheeks and precise enough to clean lines up and get in to close areas around the mouth. I did find that without a guard, it left the hair slightly longer than I would have liked it. I don't expect a razor closeness but I have had other trimmers that got closer without the guard attached.I really appreciated the ability to change the length settings on the fly and with one hand during the trim. I didn't have to fumble through a drawer looking for different length guards. The trimmer and the guard aren't particularly heavy duty but felt durable enough to not worry about the guard detaching or breaking. This time out I also felt comfortable enough removing the trimmer head to get out all of the hair. It came off pretty easily with a little pressure on the blades. I dusted out the internals and while it says that I can rinse the head under water, I just opted to brush it off. Setting the blade back on proved to be a little more difficult but after playing around with it for a minute was able to get it back on.Overall I'm satisfied with my second trim and feel comfortable leaving 5 stars and an easy recommendation for the price.

The lists of yes and no's...mostly yes's
-It works and convenient.-Yes it will trim the beard with accuracy.-Yes you can trim your pubic region.-Yes it gets warm.-Yes having a spray/lubricant for clippers is useful. I use the same stuff you find used by barbers.-Yes the battery eventually dies.-No it does not make sense changing the battery for the cost to benefit ratio isn't there. You are better off just buying a new one when this does die and that should occur at a minimal 3 years from the time of purchase unless you got a lemon.-Yes you can cut your skin if you are not careful. The shorter you adjust the guide the closer it gets to the skin. Commonsense tells you to make sure it stays flush to the body, and keep the skin from curling so it does not get caught in the teeth.-No it's NOT waterproof so don't do it while in the shower UNLESS the water is off. I am sure you are thinking duh! Trust me, I met plenty of people that needed that told to them.-A bristle brush IMHO is the best way to clean this thing. Remove the guide, do a few swipes of the clipper with a brush and it's clean. The guide just rinse off and let it air dry before installing it back in the clippers.-What if I lose the guide? Really you are going to lose that guide? How about paying attention to what you are doing.-It does hold a charge more than long enough with the amount of use I get out of it. In fact, I yet to charge it a second time since the time of purchase and that was literally months ago.-The only thing better than this for the pubic region is the Wahl Peanut due to it's size/convenience especially for men. That should cover it. This review is based on a few things and in no particular order:1. Questions I seen on Amazon2. Personal experiences with manscaping; I learned what NOT to do3. Having used this modelIf you want some more info about me and my qualifications, in my early 20's due to complaints from a certain someone getting hair in a certain place I decided to start manscaping. For awhile used scissors but for all the obvious reasons I knew there had to be a better way. As soon as I heard of a person manscaping with a beard trimmer I had to try it. First time doing it I found it to be very easy and better results in comparison to scissors. The big thing was to be careful in certain areas and before this model I never went lower than a #4 but on this model I been doing #2 setting with no issues. Also, a "hair trimmer" versus a "beard trimmer" is night and day especially when you are talking about guides. For instance a #4 on a hair trimmer versus a beard trimmer has a significant difference. So if you want to trim your beard, back, front, or groin stick to a beard trimmer.Wahl Peanut by design is a tiny little unit so when you are dealing with obstacles it's convenient. However, I didn't buy the battery unit, I went with the one that must be plugged in. Not a big deal but requires a minute or more of prep work plus an extension cord so I can trim in places of my home where I don't need to worry about the hair that falls. That is where this thing comes in; you can grab and trim at a moments notice as long as the battery power is there. That is the other thing that kept me from returning to battery powered clippers for awhile is how the battery units usually are dead when you need them the most. Now that I have the plug-in Wahl it's not a big deal, plus this thing being able to charge in 1-hour is a huge plus too. Also, since I got this thing at a discount it was a no brainer. Gas costs more than this thing.

Did the job and broke after 3 years
I bought this beard trimmer in April 2014, after reading a ton of reviews; it seemed to be the best from the perspective of value for your money.Pros: It's fairly sturdy, charges quickly and has solid trimming ability. Not expensive.Cons: The trimmer broke just shy of 3 years. I don't know if that's a good run or not for a $40 beard trimmer, though I can say that other hair shearing products I've bought lasted longer than that. All told, I think I used this trimmer maybe 70 times over the course of 35 months. The motor still runs, but it's not connected to the rotator bar, so the trimmer doesn't move. This is probably something that can be fixed easily, if only the trimmer were able to be opened (which doesn't seem to be possible). Also, the on-off slider is clunky and you can't easily turn it on with just one hand; the slider gets stuck and requires extra force. All told, I guess this was an okay product, but I'm going to try my luck with a different brand this time around.

Amazing trimmer!
Great product!I was really skeptical at first, but after having used it a few times I am convinced that this is one of the better beard trimmers.I have very sensitive skin and shaving even with the grain always causes razor burns/bumps.With this there is no direct contact between skin and blade so you get no irritation.I would recommend this product to anyone with sensitive skin.
