Animals can take you anywhere in science! Creature teachers Chris and Martin Kratt will take 6- to 8-year olds and their families along on ten extraordinary animal-powered adventures. The show transforms the Kratt Brothers into animated versions of themselves, allowing the real-life zoologists to visit wild animals in their little-seen habitats and showcase key science concepts along the way.

Best Show EVER!
We are very strict about the media our young children are exposed to. It is getting more difficult as they get older and through other kids are exposed to new ideas and things we wouldn't generally like introduced. This show is great. It is good clean fun, while my kids are learning about different animals in EVERY episode. It also has kind of a super hero vibe as the wild kratts put on their creature power suits to help save the animals from the villan zak who would like to use the differnt animals for various things (ex. In one of the episodes he wanted to capture the animals (anteater I think) and use to dig his swimming pool since they are such great diggers). It is good clean fun with the heros and the bad guys never any shooting of guns or lazers or bombs or anything like that. My kids LOVE this show!

We love the Kratt Brothers!
Out of all the PBS shows, this is mommy's favorite and my two-year old loves it too! The combination of live animal scenes and cartoon storyline keep him interested, and the show really does teach you SO MUCH about animals. Little factoids I hear my son repeating all the time. The Kratt Brothers are not annoying like many children show hosts; in fact they sort of seem like guys we'd be friends with. I was thrilled to see this collection on DVD, although I hope there are more to come because some of our favorites like elephant, cheetah, rhino, koala and kangaroo are missing. Hope to see a volume II!One word of note for the younger crowd. The only negative we've found is that the villains (Zach and Donita) speak in negative tones and I've heard my son repeating their words on occasion. He also once called out in the middle of the night, concerned that "Zach was stealing his animals". This is just specific to my son and his age---not a knock on the show. The villain/good guys angle is handled well, we just have to be careful in how our son processes it at this age.Great show, we love you Wild Kratts!

Animal education disguised as a cartoon
My son is 6 and discovered Wild Kratts about a year ago. We are all huge fans of this series and even my husband and I find ourselves watching along. I see some reviewers tanking this show as sensationalizing animals' abilities but frankly I can't understand a downside here. Yes, converting the stories to cartoons allows for a lot of 'super hero' action but there's a TON of real information in every show. The animation is simply a tool that allows kids to really get into the character of the animals. This series has proved to be the launching pad for my son's incredible interest in endangered animals, and the wealth of animal info he knows from this show is shocking. He now checks out movies and books from Nat Geo, Smithsonian, and other true 'scientific' sources... but he always loves to sit down and watch his Wild Kratts because they are such fun. We can't wait for more seasons to be released, as some of his super-favs are not on this one.All in all, I see Wild Kratts as an extremely well thought out, kid-centric, valuable lesson-providing series. They are an excellent 'gateway' show into appreciating our natural world. Wish there were more just like them!

Great way for kids to learn about animals & nature
I accidentally caught a Wild Kratts episode on public television one day and my son (3yo) was hooked. I thought the show was so well done, combining real footage of animals and their habitats with an exciting, info-packed animated adventure. I was curious to see if they made a DVD and was pleasantly surprised to find a double DVD set on Amazon. My son watches the episodes over and over again and has learned so many facts about animals so far (which he does not hesitate to share with us constantly!) :) I highly recommend this 2-DVD set. [And thank you to other reviewers who listed the episodes included on the DVD set!]

One of the best kids shows out there
I love the Kratts bros! This is a great show. My five year old daughter has learned so much about animals from this show. There are so many little diffrent things about this show that makes it great. One that stands out for me is that there are two strong, real and smart females in the show. An inventor and a "pilot" I guess. They both, all, have their quirks, but they are real. They have real fears and dislikes, but they learn from them. Jimmy, he needs some help, esspcially with his diet. He needs to try some new foods. The bad guys are even fun.The main reason why I bought these is for travel and for when PBS kids free app, takes down a full eppisode, we can still have more to watch. I hope to see these on Netflix soon. I am not holding my breath.

Wonderful dvd for kids!!
Kudos to the Kratt brothers! The Wild Kratts series is one of the few shows on television where you can be confident that your children are actually learning and not be filled with junk tv (ie: cartoon network) My 4 and 7 year olds LOVE this series and it should be considered "edutainment" instead of entertainment. They love telling me all the facts they learn about the animals from each show and then they pretend to have the creature powers. This show lets them use their imaginations and dream of adventure while learning about their favorite cool creatures. This is a great compilation of some of the shows, but I've seen new shows that aren't on this dvd. My kids watch them over and over and never get tired of them. I hope they publish a part 2 with the latest shows too! I'll be first in line!
