FriedrichWCT12A30A 27" WallMaster Smart Thru-The-Wall Air Conditioner with 12000 Cooling BTU Capacity in White

Manuals are not up to date. includes at least two separate methods to clear check filter, both methods reference buttons that simply do not exist. Wifi connectivity just completely quit working one day and I called for support that said I needed a new board, but it was out of warranty and to check with my purchaser, who would not supply the board. The thing is, the board seems to be working and connects to wifi, but no longer seems to connect to their app. Terrible customer support from this company.

Posting on multiple WCT units by this manufacturer:- If you are here after googling the unit number, save yourself 4 hours and buy a $23 smart plug and turn the unit on/off that way. Or just buy the dumb version and save yourself the extra $30.- Remote control does not work further than 6ft away from the unit.- "Menu" and "Return" buttons exists inside the air intake, under the control panel.- Manuals that are available online are written for newer, different A/C units and following them does not work.- Friedrich's only working app will not correctly connect to and setup WCT model A/C units. Don't try.- Wifi setup is not documented correctly and is impossible to complete- However, the unit does provide cooling if you set the temp to 68 and set it to "on."

Like burritos said in his review the machine is supposed to have app capability but some of the units don't have the correct control board in them to work with your wifi correctly. If you call Friedrich they will send you a new display panel with a screw driver and instructions to change out the control panel to the newer version that works for free. It takes about 10 minutes to replace and is very simple to do. I had the issue with mine and now it works.
