I found the paperwork and the info on the company's web site to be complete enough to weld up the thumb attachment. There is a picture there showing where all the parts go and everything went together just fine. I purchased the 24" Thumb knowing that I probably would have to cut it down a bit for me to use on my home build backhoe. I welded it all up and installed it on my equipment and found that I needed to cut the toothed piece down by about 4 inches. The steel is plenty heavy enough. I finished it up and painted it with some red rust primer today. I had already tried to see if I could pick trees and stumps up before I modified it. It works just fine. I am happy with this purchase and it will be a great addition to my equipment. Herman B

Good design. Took me 2 hours in the field to stick weld it together and on to the machine. As soon as I finished I had to try it out and picked up a 30 foot section of telephone pole no problem.

Heavy duty and easy to install

First of all I like the diy idea it saves so much money than buying it pre welded which would rightfully cost a lot more. 1/2 inch steel is perfect for my 9000lbs mini excavator. It took me 3 hours from opening the box, welding to it being painted on the machine. I would recommend it highly.

Didn’t wanna spend the time to build one myself and burn everything out on my plasma table but obviously I should have my 11 year old son can prolly fit better then you guys this is seriously ridiculous now I’ve either gotta waste time sending this back or burn a whole new side out and redrill holes with a mag drill to make them line up I couldn’t even beat this pin in with a hammer it’s so off

I wasn't expecting to have to weld this together from scratch with NOOO INSTRUCTIONS. Had to scroll thru internet to find how to, was ridiculous, but thaaats why it was cheaper, everywhere else it atleast comes pre assembled. I would not buy it from here because you need a welder that'll weld ½ inch steel

Installed on a JD 1025R w/260 Backhoe, I knew it was to long when purchased but for the price, quality and durability I was willing to do a little fab work. Shortened the overall thumb length by exactly 5 inches by removing material between the two pin locator holes. (This worked well and allowed perfect re-fitment of the pieces) and also did a little trimming of the main bracket and thumb support to allow on machine storage (tight fit on the 1025R 260 Backhoe setup). This is over kill for the 1025R 260 BH combo but saved a bunch of time not having to locate materials and then fabricating everything from scratch.

This thumb does not pin up out of the way when when not in use.You have to take off the jaw and brace. It is very rugged and goes together nicely, and functions great.
