Had to modify the HDMI cable to use the clip
I used this on a Pioneer sph-da110 AppRadio 3 head unit. The HDMI plug was too thick to use the included clip that holds the HDMI cable in place on the back of the head unit. It's not required to use it, but I trimmed the strain relief anyway to use it. The head unit side of the USB cable is a rather off size/shape as well, the molded material almost won't fit, but it does.I was unsure whether or not to get this, as I have a usb port I could use for power, and I had HDMI cables already, but it's good to know that this will work as Pioneer intended and really after buying the whole system, this was a minor addition. I didn't want to have to remove the head unit if I discovered something didn't work as it should if I hadn't gotten this. Aside form those two little fit hurdles though, it works well

Do your research, this cable does exactly what it is supposed to do.
To all the posters that "don't need this cable" you should have done the appropriate research. There are advantages and disadvantages to all the various hook up methods.I used this cable so that I could interconnect the usb port on back of the unit to the existing usb port in the center console via an adapter, used the existing hdmi port for interconnecting a gaming system that is passed through to a rear monitor and used this cable so that I could also use the available media port for app radio and other iPhone 5 apps. Just because you didn't need the cable, doesn't mean it is without application.Plan your system in advance and decide if you might need the hdmi port for other applications and don't care about app radio mode before deciding whether or not you need this cable. Know that the port this cable goes in to is for the app radio mode as well as providing the typical hdmi functions. You may have to do the firmware update provided by pioneer to get the app radio mode to work though on the iPhone 5.

Too chunky could have made it simple, works very well.
This is a simple thing made complex, I think its because copyright issues with lightning interface but this cable could be much simpler if Pioneer and Apple agreed in making a simpler product.

Works, but might be other ways on the sph-da210
Works as described, but think you can do without it. You will just have one less usb hook up. Overall i'm ok with it.

Works fine
They work as expected, seeing as it is just cables it was a bit expensive. The HDMI is too long.

Works well
I give this cord a 5 even though the installer said I really didn't need the cords only a hdmi, I'm one who likes everything to go smoothly so if this was recommended for my unit to work the best I was going to get it. My only complaint is the cord coil is very thick makes it hard at times to close my center console when its out and connected to my phone.

This product is absolutely useless
This product is totally not designed to work with the Pioneer automobile navigation system with iPhone 5. The specialized connectors will work perfectly with iPhone 3, 4, and 4s with a special wire that allows you to listen to music on your iPhone 4s through the Pioneer and the car speakers. It's all built in. And, you can use handsfree calling. This cable does not permit the user to listen to your music through the Pioneer and car speakers. The cable is nothing more than a charger. You use the iPhone 5's bluetooth to speak to the Pioneer and the car speakers. Basically, the the cable is completely useless when using iPhone 5 except as a phone charger, and you will never be able to listen to your iPhone music in your car. Totally defeats the purpose of having the Pioneer handsfree navigation system in the first place. The cable is useless!

Steep price
Pretty steep price but I'm not into jerry rigging, when you do it do it right, otherwise just go by some other tv or wait and save up..... Do it right the first time, or you will have to do it right when you fix
