How do you put the scales on the staff?

the statue has a hole on its hand. you put the staff thru it and the scales are place at the ends. hope this helps.

Mines came detached, and wont fit around the end of the horizontal staff ends

How hard is it to use actual hieroglyphics and not made up scribble?

I guess pretty hard. Maybe they're protecting us stupids from resurrecting him in our homes and preventing us from doing some kind of cosmic crime? Who knows. All i know is he looks pretty great, i thought it was pretty cool. One of the cooler ones i found at the time that wasnt ridiculously priced. You could probably get some sculpting clay and put it over the base to get your correct heiroglyphs that you want. Paint it once its dry. Or even glue some cardstock over it, the base is pretty flat. If it doesnt fit your need, make it fit! :)
