Was very, very cheaply built. The catch pans does not sit flat because screws protrude below which also affects how the burners rest in the pans.If I HAD BOUGHT IT LOCALLY I WOULD HAVE TAKEN IT BACK.

Decent stove top. Flimsy in areas. Cooks unevenly
We did a mild renovation in our kitchen and needed a cooktop that fit in the hole that was already there in our countertop. This one was basically our only choice. When we moved in this house we had a stainless steel frigidaire from the 1960s. It was a beast to use and clean. They must have used stainless steel 2x as thick as this top. When we ordered this one we had thought the build quality would be at least on par with that one. We were wrong. For the good: The stainless steel is polished nicely. The bad: well just about everything else. It is very flimsy meaning that placing 4 large pots on it at once you can see the deflection of the metal. As you clean it it bends significantly. It bends so easily that it was damaged in shipping and with my hand I could fix the corner. While cooking you better keep an eye on everything closely. It seems to not be as adjustable as other tops I have owned or used. Turn it to 4 it is basically the same as 7. Its like the knobs are more of a guessing game for the amount of heat they will put out.Overall: it is easy to clean (which is a major plus) and it works ok if you are watching it. So that is why I give it 3 stars.Thank you for reading my review.

Too bad the mfgr discontinued this 32" cooktop
I needed to replace an old 32" cooktop, originally installed circa 1960. The primary user is a 96 year old that wanted something similar, not a glass top and certainly not an induction top. This cooktop dropped into the existing cutout, the provided clamps work well and greatly stiffen up the installed unit. The sheet metal is lighter than the original, approx 1/2 the weight, but substantial enough for any pot a 96 year old could lift. The electrical connections needed some rearranging but no re-wiring was required (unlike most other cooktops would need), this being a major consideration in the purchase. The unit is in and working great, looks great and is an actual improvement to the old layout which required reaching over the burners to reach the controls. A week after purchase, Amazon is now out of stock and Frigidaire has discontinued this and their 32" glass top. For those of you looking for a 32" drop-in cooktop, to replace an antique top in an old house, you will probably have to go to a 30" or 36" range with the associated counter cut out modification and a complete new rewiring from the breaker box to the cooktop $$$$$.

Flimsy metal
I bought this for a replacement to the same model that was maybe 30 years old.Being the same model, the size was exactly the same and drop in was easy. The feature that we liked is that it heats fast. I guess any modern unit would have done that, though. The biggest shortcoming is the thin metal in the construction. The old was at least twice as thick and twice as heavy. As another reviewer said, a heavy pot will make the unit sag, though slightly. If the metal was heavier, I would have rated 5 star. As the saying goes, they don't make things as good as they used to.
