Wow!!!
I wear lipstick every day, mainly red, so I'm used to rings left on all my cups and bottles and my boyfriend's cheek. It does get really annoying though, so when I saw this "lip jacket" I had to try it. Brushing it on, my first thought was UGH - this smells TERRIBLE. It was like I was swiping straight vodka on my lips. It dries pretty fast though, and as it does it releases a sweeter scent. After that, it felt like I was wearing nothing at all. My lip color didn't come off on anything! It lasted for a good five or six hours, and after that it faded very evenly, so it still looked gorgeous. It came off easily with a makeup remover wipe, too. I definitely recommend as long as you can stand the few seconds of stink. I know I'll repurchase it!

Yuck
Smells and tastes awful. Super thin liquid, feels like nail polish remover or nail paint. It might set the lipstick, but not worth it, in my opinion.

It works
Applies much better than a previous brand I tried that has a roller dispenser. With that one the roller would dry stuck and it had to be pried loose every time. It also did not work as well. This keeps lipstick in place for hours. Both products are drying and sting a little when applied. Daily use might be too drying, but about three times a week seems fine.

Despite the negatives of first applying.. It does exactly what it promises!
Every since that 1st bottle, I have religiously reordered a new one whenever my current bottle gets to about halfway empty. This has become a staple that your guaranteed to always find in my makeup bagI admit.. After reading the reviews, I was not expecting much from this product but I just spent a good chunk of money on new lipsticks for the summer and if this could stretch them out then I was going to give it a try. Yes... It smells like turpentine for the first 2 minutes... Yes... It stings a bit when it first touches your lips and Yes, it is uncomfortable until it completely dries... BUT IT WORKS!!! Once this stuff dries... There is no more smell, no stinging, no stickiness or flaking. It literally seals your lipstick from just about everything for the entire day. The picture I'm posting is AFTER having this in for 8 hours while drinking, smoking, eating, etc. I do highly recommend you keep a lip gloss handy because this will stay to feel drying once in a while throughout the day. But all in all... I am officially going to be a repeat buyer of this product!

Seeing red—a very faded red.
I had high hopes for this product after reading other reviews. I followed all the recommended directions: applied lipstick, blotted, topped with lip jacket first around the lip line, then a second coat generously over the entire surface. I let it dry thoroughly with my mouth open. First off, the smell is bad, but that went away almost instantly, but the stinging was worrisome and pretty severe. Retrospectively, this can’t be good for your skin if its application results in stinging at each touch! Nonetheless, I’ve been looking for a product to keep my favorite colors on and remained optimistic as I headed to a Thanksgiving dinner. I thankfully saw no residue on my glass, napkin, etc. and assumed it was working. However, when I got home a few hours later it was clear the color faded and had not remained in tact. Now I feel like a turkey! Overall, I’ll likely toss the product. It isn’t worth the return and the limited benefit simply doesn’t outweigh the side effects.
