My 4 year old loves this workbook and so do I!
My daughter is almost finished with this workbook and has not grown tired of it. We do one letter a day (each letter has 4 worksheets). Most letters have an activity that involves cutting out the pieces to a picture and gluing them on - she really likes that. All letters have dotted letters for the child to trace. The rest of the activities are varied, including sequencing, tracing pictures, completing a picture that is missing parts (like a fish fin or whatever), finding things that are same/different, categorizing, etc. My daughter's favorite are the sequencing activities, which she also makes up a story about afterwards - that is her favorite part; so I would suggest adding that in...have the child glue down the sequence cards, then they narrate a story for you to write down and then read back to them. Lots of fun! There are also mini review pages after every four letters...my daughter calls them games and is excited to get to them. So, this workbook is fun for the child and great for practicing letter sounds and various other pre-reading skills and even math skills (like the same/different and categorizing activities). I would HIGHLY recommend this workbook.

We Love Skill Sharpeners!
We have used Skill Sharpeners Reading books with our homeschooling lessons for 2 years. They are a fantastic supplement to any homeschool curriculum. They contain colorful pages, and my kids enjoy reading most of the stories (We do one story per week). The stories are both fiction and nonfiction.
