Is this microwave safe?

As long as you remove the metal lid and spoon, the jar is glass and is microwavable. Kilner does recommend not pouring boiling liquid into the glass, although I've never had a problem with any of the Kilner jars that I own with hot liquid like soup. Hope this was helpful.

Why would i use this kilner jar when i could use a 16oz ball jar for less than $1? am i missing something?
