Great for covering tattoos
If you’re currently using cling film to heal your tattoos - you should really consider this product.I had purchased this after previously using saniderm with my tattooist. We are doing work on my second full sleeve and I’ve noticed when I have the inside of my arm tattooed it blows up and is really difficult to care for using cling film. It often takes 2 weeks to heal if I use cling film on this part of my body. The first time I used saniderm I was converted it was amazing. It’s worth noting this is NOT saniderm but I figured would do the same. I’ve used this and saniderm a few times and every time I’ve had a perfectly healed tattoo with no issues - but here’s what I’ve learned about it1. Don’t place two pieces too close together - just cover the whole space. I got some nasty blistering along the edges but not because the product was faulty but because my skin was twisted2. Do a test patch on a similar piece of skin for at least 2 days before you tattoo - you could be allergic3. When you put it on it needs to cover more than the space of the tattoo. It does stick to where your tattoo is, but not well. Bear in mind your body will be kicking out fluids for a couple of days usually.4. When you are first tattooed and putting it on, wash the space, Pat dry and leave it for a few minutes to put on. Your skin will still be bleeding and leaking plasma and this is an ideal time to put it on. Don’t put product on it before you put it on the first time.5. How long you keep it on for varies from tattooist to tattooist. I kept my first one on for 48 hours and then washed it with warm soapy water and left it to air dry the next couple of hours and lightly applied e45 as it started to feel tight6. After step 5 I would put a new bandage on. Worth noting here you can do one of two things. Either a. LIGHTLY put e45 cream on just on the space of the tattoo and then use a bigger piece to cover your tattoo or b. Leave e45 on for the couple of hours it’s out and then wash it and recover it with this film when it’s clean7. I did 6a after the first clean and found that because I put the bandage on myself it wasn’t stuck great. Get someone to put it on for you if you can’t use both hands. I did 6b and replaced it 24 hours later and left it for another 48 hours. After this it was fine to be washed and regularly out cream on it.8. It is tough to get off and the ink colouring coming out will transfer onto the bandage but it doesn’t affect the tattoo. It’s meant to keep water out and it does exactly that. It may curl up at the edges but that’s about it9. How long you keep it on for varies and you will get used to how long you need as you have more tattoos. I’ve found different parts of my body need different heal times. I’d say use this for a minimum of 4-5 days and then keep moisturised with non scented lotion after that. My usuals rule is to start getting air to it after my skin isn’t warm to the touch.Overall I will definitely continue to use. I’ve marked it as a 4 because having used saniderm I think it’s a little better quality in that saniderm is slightly thicker. And it comes on a roll - where as this is on a roll but I can see the insides folded over so I’m not sure what the quality of the end of the roll will be like.

Transparent bandages
Difficult to apply initially however you do get used to applying it. Used on holiday and melted in the heat. Initially waterproof but eventually it lifts at the edges and the water does get underneath as the day goes on
