The secret is to get an ACTUAL DeWalt industrial grade Lithium-ion 20v battery (drill-driver). There are many aftermarket fake DeWalt looking cheap-o batteries out there. (way under $100) THEY WON"T LAST! They are NOT lithium even though the covering says they are. They are painted yellow and marked to look like DeWalt Lithium batteries. . Very poor quality. Cheap Non Lithiums inside. (Nickel) Get an actual DeWalt Lithium charger too. My vacuum now runs three times as long. It also recharges in 20- 30 minutes!There are thermo shut off sensors on the motor that will kill an overheated motor. Don't run your Dyson on MAX. The motor gets too hot and shuts down. Dyson is a great concept but uses cheap components unfortunately. Installing battery conversion holder was easy.

This was easy to install. The product works great. I have used 3amp, 4 amp and 5 amp batteries and flexvolt batteries. The smaller batteries don't last as long and they have overheat protection so if you run the vacuum long it will heat them up and they will shutoff until cooling down. The 5amp runs a good amount but also heats up quickly. The flexvolt 9amp battery has a better over heat protection and longer runtime. just a little heavy but all and in all allows for swapping of batteries instead of having to wait to recharge the vacuum again.

This will only work on low speed. Motor dies after a few seconds on high

I almost trashed my Dyson stick when we moved b/c the battery would die w/in minutes of activationBut I held onto it… fast forward 4 (!) years and in conversation learned about the adaptor for the DeWalt battery ( my husband had several in the work truck) . It really works! It was easy to remove the old battery pack and replace w the adapter. Pop the DeWalt in and we’re in business! Great for those quick cleanups of fur baby hair all over the place w/o dragging out the big vacuum.If you’re debating this purchase, don’t. It’s worth the money.

Easy to install

I don’t know how I ever used my Dyson without this battery adapter. The old battery started running hot, and I was afraid to leave it charging. After switching to this adapter, I am now able to use the same batteries we use for power tools. Charging the batteries is so much easier, and the batteries have much longer life. I considered replacing my vacuum so this adapter saved me a lot of money and extended the life of my vacuum. Fantastic product!!

Six amp hour DeWalt battery fully charged gave me 25 minutes of run time on my V8 at max setting. My Three amp hour batteries would not produce max speed. Gonna need the big battery to get max, but it works great!By the way, when the charge indicator on the adapter goes red, stop using the vac. There will stick be one bar of charge on the indicators on the battery, but voltage is low then and this will help your battery recharge more cycles.
