Incredible Blades For How I Used Them
Works amazingly as stump grinder blade installed on my old Craftsman 3.5 horse edger. It required using a reducer from 5/8 inch to 1/2 inch to fit on my edger shaft but after grinding flat about 40 stumps (medium to small) it's still holding up. I cut the stumps down as low as I can with the chain saw first and then use the edger with the dado blade set to finish them off. I had to adapt the edger making a new protective shield to cover the extra width of the dado blades but it's worked well. I also bought a motorized circular saw sharpener with a diamond grinder from Harbor Freight and have sharpened the dado blades about 6 times. I use the 2 exterior blades and two chippers on my edger and am able to cut vertically or swing the edger left and right to move material. I've lost about 8 carbide tips and the continued wear and sharpening is causing me to look for a replacement set but I'm amazed at the abuse these blades have taken and am so sorry they have been discontinued. For normal (as designed) use, I suspect this dado set would have worked great.

good dado blade & good price for hobbyist woodworker
This is my first stackable dado blade as my previous was a wobble adjustable , so I'm still trying to make friends with it . That being said ,My Main reason I wanted to try stackable was the wobble blade does not cut perfect sides and bottoms when you are making box joints , so you wind up with a lot of hand fitting . Seems after reading all I could find on it , the stackable blades are all designed to cut dados the thickness of various plywoods rather than true 1/2" , 3/4" etc because a lot of cabinet construction involves using dado cuts . So you are left with using various thickness shims that come with the blade kit in order to get the exact width you are after . That seems to be the only issue I have with the blade but I'm still in the early stages of learning this thing. It seems to be of good quality , but I am by no means an expert in that field. It does come in a nice aluminum type storage case that is very handy to prevent damage to any of the pieces ( 2 outer blades ,3 chippers ,3 spacers and various shims - .005 thru .020 ) I am a hobby woodworker and saw no reason for me to pay $150 plus for an occasionally used stackable so I chose this option .

Does what it should
Works well, but needed to make a cheat sheet to make dados of the right sizes. I made dados of all sizes for test fittings on a price of scrap.

Love it
4 stars only because I had to grind the paint away from the center of the two blades using my dremmel to get them to fit the arbor. Also could use some more shims. I had to use one of the washers to get a 3/4 inch cut.
