Philips HTL2150/12 Soundbar Speaker

A soundbar speaker is a must buy if you have just purchased a new flat screen TV (why can't the TV producers and or retailers do a package deal on these). I bought this several months ago to go with a Philips 5000 series 47 inch smart TV. There was no problem setting up. It gives really good sound albeit a bit too much bass for my hearing. The picture of the Subwoofer is misleading, you will have to check the size, it is quite large. The remote control works well with the original batteries still going strong. The only downside that I have found is the control of sound is slow and also it does not keep the settings (sound level, bass and treble) after switching off. The surround sound is great for concerts.

I chose this sounbar after reading numerous reviews of competing products in the price range. I was looking to replace my large Sony AV amp and mid range Kenwood speakers with something more compact and streamlined in our re-vamped living room. I was not expecting anything like the sound I was used to but, to be honest I have been extremely surprised. Firstly for television sound. It adds so much low end and audio fidelity to the sound provided by my BT YouView box, and compared to the thin and characterless sound from my 42" Samsung, the sound is by an order of magnitude so much better. Recently during Wimbeldon we noticed that the system reproduced the sound from around the court a little too realistically, with every plane overhead, breath of wind and crowd sound reproduced with absoloute and oftimes disconcerting clarity. With my BluRay player the sound speration is good, if not true surround sound. However, the added low end from the sub woofer provides a modicum of cinema like rumble to big explosive action scenes in a very satisfactory manner. The real surprise though has been in it's faithful reproduction of music when played from CD and SACD from the Sony BluRay. Whilst not having the spacial seperation that widely spaced speakers gives, I have to say that this set up produces a rich and immersive sound stage that is more than acceptable. It is exceptional at producing clear and crisp vocals on the likes of Tift Merritt and K T Tunstall's latest albums, and yet manages to give a good old disco thump to Daft Punk. Whilst it will not please audiophiles I am sure, the average listener should be well satsified with the sound quality VFM from this product.Physically, the sound bar is a little less wide than my TV and sits just under the lower limit of the screen surround, so is unobtrusive if sat on the stand. It can be wall mounted if preffered. The little remote works well and the unit has 4 means of input, optical, coaxial, av and aux, so digi box, bluray, games console and cd player can all be input seperately.All in all a very user friendly, sound competent soundbar for very reasonable money. Recommended.

Basically you get what you pay for, Having read the reviews about this I was swayed and thought, "why not".It's too tinny, the speakers somewhat sound muffled and it does echo esp with the surround sound button pressed.A mediocre system. Hence the price tag.Only positive I can get from this is that the subwoofer isn't too bad. Not too bad at all.

Purchased this about a week ago and I'm not that impressed. Connected to my TV via the stereo connection (red/white) rather than optical and the sound was obviously better than my Sony flat screen, but it's hard to control it. The remote is small and insubstantial with annoying blister buttons. Not what I would have expected from Philips. What's more, it doesn't seem to work that well. It takes several button pushes to turn it on, and it's very reluctant to alter the bass, treble or volume. Lots of pressing and watching the amber light flicker, but nothing seems to happen until I stand up and change the volume manually using the control on the top of the bar. This might just be a dodgy battery in the remote, so I've ordered a replacement, but not a good start. Also, when I turn it on it doesn't remember the input, so I have to frustratingly click through to AUX before there's any sound at all. Lastly, I pressed the 'surround' button on the remote to see what happened. The audio gained a lot of echo, and even when I turned surround sound off there's now a noticeable lag of a few tenths of a second in audio between the TV and the sound bar. It's fine if you mute the TV, but still quite irritating. I've ordered a replacement battery and an optical lead to see if that makes it usable, but first impressions are not good.Edit: I purchased an optical connection and replaced the battery in the remote. The optical lead didn't make much difference, but with a new battery the remote now lets me increase the volume and turn the bar on and off consistently. Little disappointed that Philips allowed the device to ship with a flat battery, but now working better.Another edit: I've now abandoned the sound bar and replaced it with an AV receiver. Really disappointing and I would have expected much better from Philips. The requirement to cycle the input back to AUX every time it's turned on was annoying, but the deal-breaker was the incredibly poor response to the remote. Taking fifty or more presses of the button to move from minimum to maximum volume, and the failing to respond reliably to the mute button, made this unusable.

l' articoli si presentano bene, ma pecca nelle rifiniture e il subwoofer mostra dei difetti di audio tramite l'attacco dei fili che collega le casse. e non c'e specificato negli annunci che manca il cavo per alimentare il collegamento audio alla tv.bisogna comprarlo a parte.

Mein Fernseher ist von Philips, daher dachte ich, nehme ich auch eine Soundbar von Philips. Die Optik ansprechend.Nachdem ich zwar erstmal das falsche Anschlusskabel kaufte, konnte es nach dem Umtausch jedoch losgehen.Die Inbetriebnahme ist kinderleicht. Die beiliegende Fernbedienung sieht aus wie die von meinem Fernseher nur kleiner. Nicht die schönste Form, aber ist ja nur die Bedienung. Anfangs hört sich der virt. Surroundsound gewöhnungsbedürftig an, weil ich es vorher ja nicht hatte. Man gewöhnt sich aber schnell dran und ich möchte auch nicht mehr ohne gucken.Der Subwoofer macht einen guten passenden Bass, den man via Fernbedienung auch erhöhen und sinken kann.Einzig komische ist, dass die verschiedenen Sender ziemlich unterschiedlich laut sind. RTL ist viel lauter las Pro7, war ohne soundbar nicht, keine Ahnung woran das liegt, aber stört mich nicht weiter.

Cette barre de son à un bon son mais seul problème elle à pas de câble qui relie à la tv pour le son donc j'ai du en acheter un si j avait su j aurai pris une barre de son wifi pour le prix entre la barre et le câble après la perte de temps pour trouver comment sa marche car notice très banal qui explique rien juste des dessins et dernière critique quand on augmente et descend le son il y à rien que s affiche pour montrer à quel niveaux ont es pareil pour les bass ect ... À nous de deviner le niveaux sinon très bon son un peu dessus .

Nach längerer Suche habe ich dieses System eines Tages ganz zufällig in einem Elektromarkt gefunden, als es von einem anderen Kunden getestet wurde. Die Pegelfestigkeit war überraschend gut für so ein kleines System, weshalb ich mir erstmal zusätzliche Infos eingeholt habe und letztendlich wurde das System auch gekauft.Genutzt wird es für den PC.Nach nunmehr längerer Benutzung bewerte ich dieses Produkt aber nur mit 4 Sternen.Optik ist Gut.Verarbeitung ebenso. Kabel zum Subwoofer ungewohnt dünn, aber das hat keinen Einfluss auf die Funktion.Pegelfestigkeit beeindruckend für die Größe.Klang ausreichend. Eher recht dumpf und Basslastig.Entspricht insgesamt der Preisklasse. Wunder darf man hier aber keine erwarten. Man kann die Höhen etc. zwar mit der Fernbedienung ändern, nach "Neustart" klingt es aber wieder wie vorher. Habe nicht den Eindruck, dass die Einstellung gespeichert wird.Die Lautsprecher sind mit Stoff bezogen. Auch oben, was einen perfekten Staubfang gewährleistet!Nach dem Einschalten der Stromsteckerleiste befinden sich die Lautsprecher IMMER im Stand-By Modus. Man muss also immer mit der Fernbedienung diese erst aktivieren. Ebenso schaltet es sich ständig in Stand-By Modus um, sobald wenige Minuten kein Ton ankam. Für mich eher von Vorteil, sieht aber sicher nicht jeder so. Eine automatische Erkennung ob der Ton "wieder da ist" wäre super gewesen.Die Fernbedienung hat keine "normalen" Knöpfe, sondern eine Art Folie, die über die Oberseite der Bedienung und deren Knöpfe gezogen ist und durch ihre Formelastizität deren Betätigung ermöglichen. Erfahrungsgemäß nutzen sich diese aber schnell ab, mit der Zeit entstehen Risse bzw. Löcher. Das kann ich bei diesem Produkt noch nicht feststellen, aber überraschen würde es mich eines Tages nicht. Schließlich muss man diese täglich betätigen...Klang ist je nach Anschluss sehr unterschiedlich. Die analoge Version ist nicht empfehlenswert, weil der Klang schlechter und auch die Lautstärke niedriger ist. Ich habe es nun optisch angeschlossen, empfehle deshalb nur diese oder evtl. die digitale (von mir nicht getestete) Version.FAZIT:Empfehlenswert für jeden, der ein günstiges System will, welches z.B. die TV-Lautsprecher etwas hochwertiger ersetzen soll. Es bietet dann nämlich genau das, was man vermisst: Bass.Man muss aber die genannten Negativpunkte akzeptieren.
