You want a super pocketable EDC (Every Day Carry) retro emulator?You also want it to be easy to use and easier to use than any other handheld by such a large degree that it single handedly changes the entire retro handheld game so that it can't be played the same by anyone else again?Look no further.The Miyoo Mini V4 and Miyoo Mini Plus are the handhelds for you.Get the Miyoo Mini V4 if you want the smallest and most portable one (great for killing time at the Dr's office or while waiting on a bench while your wife tries on clothes).On the other hand if you want to have a handheld for extended play times, but also don't want a HUGE unit? Then the Miyoo Mini Plus is the one for you.Or you can be like me and get both!Now it must be said for the above statements to be true, that you MUST download OnionOS and replace the stock experience. The stock OS STINKS with a capital "S". OnionOS on the other hand isn't just the easiest custom firmware to load out of all custom firmware options, but it is also the easiest OS to use PERIOD. Full stop!Just load it, get your BIOS files loaded and get your own ROM files and you're off to the races.If you really want to tinker and have the most "authentic" retro "feels", then you can apply borders to the screen that make the unit look like the handheld you are emulating, but it's not necessary.At the end of the day, many contenders have tried to kill the "king" of retro emulators, and a few have come close (MagicX mini and TrimUI brick for example), but not have done it IMO.Nothing and I mean NOTHING is as easy to use and as functional and fun as a Miyoo Mini V4 or Miyoo Mini Plus. Period.Both the V4 and Mini Plus can emulate from Atart to PS1 without issue. The Mini Plus can emulate PS1 with a 2x upscale in most cases as well, as the CPU the in Mini Plus runs a bit faster out of the box.I love these so much I have about a bakers dozen of them with a mix of V4 units and Mini Plus units.FYI, this review comes from a person who specializes in evaluation and reviewing Retro Emulator handhelds and as I type this, I'm staring at a HUGE box of various makes and models of emulators (over 100 different units). The only brand that can give Miyoo a run for it's money these days are basically anything from Anbernic with the H700 chips set and the most recent Anbernic firmware. Those handhelds are great and much more powerful, but they also are missing the "magic" and ease of use that OnionOS has on the Miyoo Mini V4 and Plus units.They really captured lighting in a bottle with this!

First things first... Miyoo always puts a lot of thought into their stuff, and you can tell... This is the Mini v4, and it comes with a matching case! Screen protector, manual, charging cable included... Also has a Micro SD card BUT you will want to replace it. Do NOT use the one that is included, get a replacement... SanDisk, Samsung, Kioxia, even PNY... Load it up with OnionOS, put some games on, and you're off to the races...!As the title of my review says, this is an ADORABLE device. It is itsy-bitsy tiny, ready to go with you on any journey... Battery life is good, the screen is crisp... No wifi which is a bummer but not a deal buster... Can always use a wifi dongle! I really recommend it if you want portability and the Miyoo quality!
