Pathetic. Don’t buy!
Doesn’t sync with iPhone. Inaccurate heart rate. Inaccurate sleep tracking. Only works as a step tracker.

Smart Watch Vs Fitness Watch – or both?
Like most, I watched review videos, read review posts and blogs and eventually decided that the Stratos was for me – but what was that based on? Well for me it was a number of things. I wanted a watch that I could and would wear the vast majority of the time (including for work) so style & appearance of the watch were a factor. Then, the fitness aspects – I wanted a watch that would do the basics and a little more (Sleep stats, walking, steps, cycling, swimming, heart rate) and the Stratos certainly has that. Next, the Smart functionality – for me the primaries were already covered so the “smart” capabilities were an added bonus. Yes, you can set and tune the watch to receive a vast array of notifications from your paired device (I use an iPhone/iOS) but you cannot respond to them (read only). No, you cannot answer a call on the watch and no, you cannot make a call either. Then of course my major consideration – the cost! Wow, what you get here for the price point is nothing short of amazing – but only when you really think about what it is you want from your device. If you primaries are look & feel, fitness tracking, sleep analysis with some smart functions included then this is absolutely for you.So, I have had this for over a week and have been actively monitoring my walks (inbuilt GPS), steps, calories, sleep patterns. I have been wearing it for work (not out of place with a shirt & tie). The App (Amazfit Watch on iOS) is decent and easy to pair up (took a couple of minutes). The Watch itself went through three updates and was ready to use. Now, there is a web site that holds thousands (yes 1000’s) of watch faces that you can “download” to your watch and select – and it’s all free too. Just connect the watch to a PC/Laptop via USB (using the included charge cable) and then open up the “Watch” folder on the phone and copy in the downloaded watch face. On the watch itself, you can then select the new watch face or use the App to select (once copied over).I have mine set to constantly monitor heart rate and wear it in bed for sleep analysis and thus far have charged it once (after 4 days it was down to 20% battery – which is great given I’d been using the inbuilt GPS to track my walks). So what about niggles/negatives? Well, the watch is large and the first couple of days took some adjustment and getting used to – especially at night when in bed wearing it! It is not a watch for the very small wrist in my opinion. The charger that is included is fiddly and you have to press the watch into it to ensure a good connection (wish they would change this to a magnetic type – like their new GTR uses). The strap – can rub given the material so I have already purchased two new straps (a leather one for work and a second fitness one that is better material). The instructions – there are none really that take you through the watch functions so get ready to learn and explore to get the most out of your new device and use the Amazfit website & forums for help and guidance. Of course, the setup and tuning isn’t overly complex but a basic overview of each function available would have been nice. The Pros outweigh the niggles by a long shot – so although these reviews are always subjective, I would recommend the Stratos highly given what you get for the price. I love mine and will be keeping a constant eye on the Amazfit brand from now on (my wife has the Amazfit Bip and loves it)!

Garmin who?
So after a few weeks of reading reviews watching countless youtube videos I made my decision. The Amazfit Stratos comes in a very attractive looking box, with a clip in charging doc. The watch itself is well made with what feel and look like high quality materials. The three buttons on the right hand side of the watch have a reassuring click. The strap is comfortable and easily interchangeable with a quick release aid. The transreflective screen is awesome in sunlight and the backlight in the dark also works well with five levels of brightness. Fitness tracking is spot on to with loads if data and graphs for VO2 max and cadence speed elevation and the list goes on. The one thing to consider is the watch is quite large however it does make it better for reading while out on a run. After a week of owning the watch I am very happy with my choice. I will update further in the next few weeks when I have lived with it a little longer. So 9 months down the line the battery has lost its capacity to hold charge, it's gone from lasting 7-10 days to 2-3 days Amazon are giving me a refund unsure whether to replace it with like for like or something different?

Looks Great , great value , waterproof and does the job
So decided to get myself a new smart watch so I can track my exercise which is mainly just walking and cycling , this seemed to be the equivalent of the more recognisable brands but at a better price. Arrived next day thanks to prime, in a nice box, when opened it was a little bigger than expected but not too big for your wrist and as my first smart watch assume its got to be chunky t get the decent battery life in, and its actually quite a bit lighter than I was expecting,The display is a decent size and I found it I bright enough with a decent refresh rate 1.34’ with gorilla glass so should survive a few knocks and bangsBattery life : turn a few features off you will get 5 days , but like all tech the more features you use the shorter the battery will lastYou can store some music on it and listen to it via Bluetooth on headphones that I found pretty usefulGPS locked in about 15secs so as quick as my smart phoneLooks Great , great value , waterproof and does the job and look forward to tracking my exercise

Let down by battery life
I get very poor battery life - nowhere near the advertised 5 days. Been using it for a week now with perhaps an hour a day activity when the GPS is in use and the watch is connected to a BLE heart strap - I never get more than a days operation before having to recharge and that is with continuous HR and auto backlight disabled. I suppose I could try disabling notifications but then what's the point of a smart(ish) watc?.The transflective screen is very readable, although the data widgets on the watch face appear only to have a very small font size. The data screens for activities have much better font sizing and are good although I don't think they can easily be modified.

Great quality watch for the price
I really don't write reviews often but I felt inclined to do so after reading a few of the other reviews. It has been highlighted that the display for the watch is very dim. I had noted the date on the reviews and was in hope that the issue may have been addressed since then. When the watch first arrived I got it started (really slick simple process involving a mobile phone application) and was initially disappointed to find that the screen is in fact very dim.The swipe interface of the watch can take some getting used to at first, but the gestures are consistent so I was quickly able to figure out mechanisms by which to interact with my watch. In doing so I experimented with a few other gestures, including swiping up from the bottom which revealed notifications, and then swiping down from the top which revealed a settings panel, similar to what a modern smartphone phone would have. Lo and behold there was a brightness setting. By default is set really low (1 for me). I cranked it up to 5 and now it's clear as daylight.I suspect the manufacturer set it to be default dim in order to promote extended battery life. The watch does well to dim itself when not in use, so perhaps not the best of decisions. All that being said I am really impressed with all the features. The watch looks great, much nicer than some of the other more popular smartwatches I see people wearing. The tracking features work perfectly as far as I can see and has everything I want from a smartwatch.Really stoked with this purchase.
