Will this hold 2 1/2 gallons? I don’t understand 2 +.

2+ means it holds 2 gallons plus the oil needed to use in a 2 stroke equipment, ussualy about 6 - 8 ounces.

Can you throw the silly nozzle away and use a standard universal spout?

I recently bought a generic replacement spout and vent kit. Sadly, the coarse threads on the new cap do not work with the coarse threads on the can. I really wish that when people answer questions indicating that they replaced an item, that worked or did not, that they would include the item info, so it is more useful to others. How do I get a replacement spout assembly? Mine leaks around the red pushbutton when pouring- messy and dangerous.
