I’d like to thank raspberry margaritas for this great choice
So I definitely hacked my father’s Prime account to buy this with next day shipping. Just wrapped up a girl’s weekend trip to the San Juan Islands in Washington and saw this poncho at an outfitter’s while 3 [strong] margaritas and a marionberry cider deep and fell in LOVEEE. The tomato is really more of a pleasant orange color (which is what drew me to it as it’s my favorite color) but it was $100 at the store and only $83 on Prime. You know what I had to do! Was this a non-sober purchase? Yes. Was it the worst non-sober purchase? Absolutely not. I’m a big camper/hiker/outdoorsy person and this poncho is delightfully warm and easy to stuff into it’s pocket and store away. I cannot wait to tale this on all my adventures here in the Pacific Northwest. I am positive this will become my new “Cannot-Leave-Without”. I should also mention I’m a US size 14/16 and swim in this so if you’re concerned about size, don’t be. There’s plenty to spare. Will definitely update once I take it camping! Sober me definitely approves!! -Becca, not Doug

VERY thin insulation, very short-mid thigh on 6'2", hood-mixed opinion, haphazard snap alignment
1) VERY thin insulation-offer this in a Polar/Winter weight.2) VERY SHORT- mid thighs on my 6"2" frame-this is for camp, not Ninja Warrior competition!3) Only one snap per side= MASSIVE heat losses from sides! zipper please4) Hood-good visibility-I hate having vision restricted but huge 3" gap between chin and lower hood= MASSIVE heat loss like a chimney-higher chin area or cinch cord please; and this won't reduce visual field either!5) trivial, but when snapped, the sides do NOT align evenly; doesn't affect performance but indicator of poor quality control.6) I bought this despite desiring the Swagman, but don't want to look like a Prepper/Poacher while camping. (The far superior Swagmans come in camo/sand only).

Versatile poncho / technical blanket / pillow - I've enjoyed using it
Now first let me say three things... the color doesn't bother me, the sale price attracted me, and I haven't worn it yet as a poncho at camp (but did just to try it on and check it out).I have used this a number of times as a technical blanket while camping. I either use a bivy sack with a small tarp or a hammock with a similar tarp, and when the weather turns brisk, this does very well down to the low 50's (for me, YMMV).I'm a fan of items that can be used in various ways, and the rain resistance, insulation value, and wear-ability of this is appealing for spring and fall weather camping. If it turns out a warm night, the packs into itself transforms this into a comfy pillow.Note that "jack of all trades, master of none" applies to this item. It's not the best, totally waterproof poncho, not the warmest "over quilt" / blanket / sleeping bag, and not the smallest volume when packed.

great other than 2 issues
will be great for outdoor concerts, by campfire, etc.2 things could and should be better1) i think it's asinine for a hood not to have a way to cinch -- this hood has no way to cinch2) should have additional snap further down on each side

Overall Great Product-US Military Should Look At!
This is a good item and has dual purpose as a honcho and a blanket. The only draw back is it only has one set of snaps on the side so cannot fully close. The US Military should look at modifying the standard issue poncho liner along these lines so that one could snap this into a issue poncho for extra warmth and would be great for pulling any type duty- radio watch, OP in mechanized/motorized forces, etc..- particularly in Northern Climes, as opposed to pulling out a cumbersome sleeping bag.The materiel of this is exceedingly warm, an is to a degree water repellent. Overall great product, but wish could further close sides- hence 4-Stars.

Oddly loveable
This thing is super warm and handy to toss on before heading out of the camper to walk the dog on a cold morning. Its also great for sitting by a fire in the evening as it functions a bit like a throw blanket over your legs while you are sitting. The only downside is it is huge and if you have a smaller camper or tent, and like to keep it unstuffed, it takes up quite a bit of real estate. On the flip side, the dog loves sleeping on it. I got orange, and probably look like a killer tomato wandering around in it, but I love it anyway.

I thought about buying one of these for a good year before actually pulling the trigger
I thought about buying one of these for a good year before actually pulling the trigger. It was hard to justify needing it but now that I have it I wish I ordered it sooner. Great to wear with short sleeves at home or around camp. My daughter likes it as a blanket in the back seat on road trips. Wife loves it so much I had to order her one.

Warm, multi use, perfect for the bag
I got this as a multi use piece of clothing to cut down on things in my bag. Its very warm when worn, makes for a great blanket at night in the hammock or tent, and when its too hot to use it makes for a decent pillow in its stuff sack for the hammock again. Really the only thing you could ask for is for it to be a waterproof layer on the outside. Its similar to sleeping bag material and is probably going to snag on trees or get wet easily.

I liked the idea of having a poncho blanket for camping ...
I liked the idea of having a poncho blanket for camping and the like. I tended to use the honcho poncho as a blanket over the top of my sleeping bag to increase it's R-value. It does very well at this and definitely increases your bags performance by a few degrees centigrade. Have noticed though that it is made of the same slippery poly material that most bags are made of and so has a tendency to slip off during the night. I tend to tuck it under my feet to help prevent this. Also surprisingly warm for something so thin even when used as the poncho. Can also be used as a pillow when it's folded into it's own pocket.

Expensive but good
Honestly so happy with this purchase, keeps me so warm and dry. I've worn it in the pouring rain and I stayed completely dry. I also love that it can compress into a bag because it makes it so easy to transport and take on expeditions.also keeps me really warm
